Mike, I know the blizzard is most important hosever, it is Chritman Eve and many children are wondering about Santa. I haven't seen your Santa tracker. Can you mention that Santa does not get stuck in the drifts like the cars and trucks

There are at least 60 people stranded on NW 23rd and May and most of them are at the Walgreens, but they are closing at 10 PM. Where do they expect these people to go? Please help. Thank you

What a great choice in Emily Sutton. You have once again assembled the #1 weather team in the State! Hated to see Grant go. Hated even worse some of the interim "subs." When I first saw Emily I told myself she's got the personality and technical savy to be a part of the 4-Warn Storm Team. Super!!!

No Wonder It's Cold

I have never believed in all those prophesies of doom, or not the cataclysmic, world ending, disaster movie, kind anyhow.
The current little wheeze being 2012, when the Mayan calendar ended. At least the Mayan's had a little foresight, their calendar spanned a period of around 6,000 years. Bill Gates and Microsoft could only manage ten on Windows 95. Although I suspect that may have been more to do with making a buck than being unable to count beyond his fingers.
Now, after watching Saturday morning's weather forecast on News Channel Four, I'm certain the end is nigh.
The reason for the next round of cold weather we are expecting is a "stationary boundary moving into the state".
That has to be kinda like the proverbial "irresistible force" meeting an "immovable object".
No wonder it's so darn, face biting, bone gnawing cold!
Could be time to pack a few essentials and head to the bunkers for the next millennia or so!
Here's an interesting little fact, for the date I'm publishing this page, January 3, the temperature last year (2009) was a record 73 degrees!
Bring on that climate change!

Please continue to have people to bring in their pets.
You are the only outreach to those who don't know they should.
People do listen to the weather; they trust the weathermen.
Your voice will help an animal that would otherwise have to stay outside. Thank you so much.
I would tell them myself every chance I got if I could.

When ya’ll are doing the weather segments the next two days, would you please remind parents to warn their children to not go onto the ice. Many ponds and slow moving creeks may start to freeze, but the ice will not be safe. It will get very cold, but it won’t be cold enough, long enough. Here’s a good link.

This morning (1-9-10 at 7:30 AM) my Zephyr weather station here in Shawnee showed that it was 2* with realtive humidity of 85%. I looked out the window and I saw what looked like glitter coming down. Could it have been fabulosly floating, fantastically flakey, frost falling?

Monday, January 11, 2010 at 5 PM I Saw my first robin in the backyard. As a long time believer in the very cold weather being behind us at the robins' first sighting. Let's hope this sighting is on track. Keep up the good work.

Mike I am sorry you are not going to be at the Home and Garden show!
I would have loved to meet you. We are blessed to have you as our meteorologist and you are such a rock. You are the glue that holds the whole team together and you make such wise decisions on your team.I hated to see Grant go but Emily is an awesome choice, good to see a woman. I hope she will get to enjoy the thrill of the chase.
Thank you for always being informative and watching over my family.
