Help ! We must save the gypsy moth. No drilling in ANWR, no new refineries. No pulling tinder out of America's forests. Ban Dimilin and Bt as being harmful to the life of the endangered.gypsy moth

just what we need another task force to dtudy the life cycle of gypsy moths. This will surely save mankind. While this task force is in effect, no gypsy moth will dare attack another elm tree. Way to go marty.

Isn't there a biological alternative to some of the pesticides being used?

Come take a look at the mountains. One year's defoliation killed trees.
Maybe if we quit buying the foreign junk overseas we wouldn't have Emerald Ash borer, Hemlock Wooley Adelgid and a host of other non-native species. As for B.t. it is registered for organic farming. It is a bacteria found in the soil and has been formulated into a pesticide. It starts to die in U.V. light after being sprayed on leaves in 7-10 days. It is more safe than someone walking in a city after dark.
