I thought at that time in the morning I heard thunder. Would that have anything to do with it?

My Western New York Earthquake memory came when I was around 7 years old or so.....

Picture It....1986(?)....The year they had the quake in Montreal....I was standing at the toilet, power washing the porcelain, and my mom starts yelling at me to stop jumping on my bed! <for starters, I never jumped on my bed, ever. For 2, the bed wouldn't have supported a jumper. For 3, I would have hit my head on the slanted ceiling. <<Just like my Mom to accuse me. She still accuses me of stuff constantly>>

Anyways, We all found out soon thereafter, that Montreal had an earthquake, and we felt it in North Tonawanda.

I felt it! I'm in Williamsville and I was awake sitting on my couch and typing on my laptop. I heard something rattle in my china cabinet and felt a brief shake, but I also live close to the airport, so at first I thought it might be a plane. I looked out the window, but didn't see anything by snow. I kinda forgot all about it until I saw this.

I felt my house shake for brief moment as I was heading outside to snowblow the driveway. I thought it was a plow passing my house. It would explain why I heard the ductwork rattle on my second floor.

I hope the researchers at UB can document the story 'behind' the quake story, that is 4 out of 13 posts to the forum being related to flatulence. The astounding intellect of WNY computer owners is always evident in the forum!

About that time I was laying in the hide-a-bed and my Mom's Lava Lamp went on with the black light above it..The whole trailer shook and I went outside to see and all the other people in the park were outside too....Wow, it was scary.."LiL Luke" site #3

I totally agree with you. I had given up reading these comments until this one because of the low mentality of some of the posters. Seems they always have these idiotic comments.

to Clarence resident:

You couldn't have felt an aftershock from athquake, especially 12 hours later. It would have been the equivilant of dropping a can of soup on the floor. uh-ho i gotta go i think there's an aftershock now... nopy, just my cat jumping in the other room.
