I should be riemann you out for wasting our time.........you two are a pair o' bollocks......... See kids, math IS fun :-) Well that is where my envy would lie if I was an envious person... Math doesn't click with me... It never has..I can remember things from when I was 2 years old..in diapers...lot's of it too... But math..no way... That is actually part of the reason I hated school.. I can figure out problems if I have a book and it's formulars...but they don't stick... And yes that is a piss off to an extend... I don't let it get to me though...

Basicly two things that made me leave school at the time I did.. Math...and I knew I wouldn't need it.. I am not ever going to be in a field that I would have to have it.. The super natural science doesn't require it..:)
And, and this is is true...looking at the dead Jews. piled in ditches...having been made to study that...staring like what is this doing for me..???
I understood the world to be one of vile disturbing disgustingly powertrips....
I left school...and spend my time sitting in cafés, talking to people...about their lifes etc...
Went to museums and things like that...

Your replies are in compliance (you love that word, I'm sure) with other herd members. Most (but NOT all) the posters here form a back-slapping club .... no, wait...a religion of narrowly focused intent on keeping outside thought outside. I have the lawn to mow before it rains and I can't rationalize my devoting 8 hours to searching back-posts and presentations to a committee of one. Another creIDiot fundy runaway.

Considering how resistant I've been to every other attempt to bore myself to sleep, I'd probably end up a cricket aficionado ... or worse, a Mary Worth fan! I liked your first advice better ... and I do follow it when there's a genuine need. Up till now though, I've been pretty successful at arranging the rest of my life around my weird sleeping hours.

OK I signed up and created a Topix ID. They made me append the "CDN" to my name, but that's a small price to pay so you could all see our beautiful new puppy :-)

Primewonk wrote: <quoted text> One thought as to the "why" of this, is that exposure to the suns rays can trigger DNA errors. Having cell repair take place then can increase risk. Doing while asleep - in the dark - works better <quoted text> We also now understand that the hormones leptin and ghrelin, that trigger appetite and satiation are tied to sleep. Having disrupted, fragmented sleep, or just plain old insufficient sleep causes two things - first you "think" you are hungry and secondly, you don't get the satiation trigger to tell you you are full. Now, knowing that, look at the rise in obesity rates and the rates of Type II Diabetes. In the past 150 years the average amount of sleep an adult in the US gets has decreased about 90 minutes. Yet there has been no genetic change in sleep need. We are chronically sleep deprived. Even kids. In the past 40 years the average school age child has started getting less sleep than they physiologically need. Obviously we all know that obesity is a multivariate and can't pinpoint one thing that causes it. But to me, this linkage is pretty tight. If someone tells me they want to lose weight - I tell them to sleep more. <quoted text> There are some good sleep guys at UW, have you been there? <Primewonk is now stepping off his soapbox.> If you should ever "step off your soapbox" I would grab my trusty multipurpose pointy-ended rock hammer, find you and threaten you with it until you got right back up on it. We need you there.

For insomniacs, time is both relative and irrelevant. That means, among many other advantages and disadvantages, that the sun is always over the yardarm somewhere in the world and that I have done some seriously profitable after-hours trading in overseas markets. Ka-ching.

I used to spend a lot of time in Montreal when I was younger (had some family there) but I don't get nearly enough excuses to go there these days. Btw, congrats on your impending family expansion!

We didn't get in trouble because it was not recognizable as beer.

If they truly thought I was incompetent of all thought, why then, if they hold super human brain powers I guess are they talking to me... I thought smarts stand for something?? Yes, true entertainment...I have come to the conclusion that must be the reason...but they aren't doing that well in that field either... Oh well... That would all be nice and dandy if it were a battle of wits, but it’s not. You just changed the subject earlier on to create an argument of pity, but as the old saying goes:“whatever helps you sleep” Both you and over-eazy-under-pressure made the mistake of making a hasty generalization about me, a logical fallacy. My “super human brain powers” are wasted with you… and don’t worry, this will be my final post to you. Funddies are on the call 24/7, and a “super human brain power” being is in the need. Up, up and away!
