Oh it's like veterans who came home from Vietnam most were called baby killes and worst - Now it's the PTSD and do I hire him or not cause of what might happen if he flips out?
Do I take a chance he is OK? Do I ask him if he has or being treated for PTSD?

this is what is going on behind closed doors today with Veterans begging for a job......

Can you prove to an employer that you don't have PTSD? The stigma will always be there.
Try giving a vet the chance to prove themselves. Maybe some do have it and some don't but giving a vet the chance will at least build self esteem, pride and more. Combating this issue is to make the vet feel worth while and whole. Giving a vet a reason to live and creating an atmosphere where the vet can feel useful. Sometimes that can be all it takes to hide the scars of war and trauma. How many employers have experienced trauma and yet they still function? The vet should at least be given the chance to prove themselves and if the employer is wrong, I am sure the signs will show and the employer must be vigilant but NOT PARANOID. Sometimes all it takes is for a hand to reach out and take hold and say you are worth while and I believe in you, and the vet can prove that. STOP THE STIGMA AND HIRE THE VET! He/she is no different of a human being than anyone else. How many paranoid employees do you have on your job?
