From the Mercury News Article:
Alexander England Kent, who works in finance and real estate, wants to stop developers from being able to hire council members or planning commissioners to represent their project as it goes through the approval process. Leaders must represent "Burlingame's best, long-term interest -- not just one party," Kent said.
In addition to stopping the obvious conflicts of interest, I’m running to represent the 51% of Burlingame that rents their home, but who have NO representation on City Council today.
Further, I’d like to encourage healthy budget surpluses to pay down our massive debts and ensure strong schools.
I work with schools and faith-based groups every day on real estate strategy, financial analysis and complex contract negotiation.
While I have not asked for endorsements or contributions from individuals, I did just receive the endorsement of San Jose City Councilman, Pete Constant.
Please vote for me on Tuesday, November 5, 2013.
Alexander E. Kent
