Bill Faustine, fired San Mateo teacher, reaches settlement
Former Aragon High School teacher Bill Faustine, who was fired in March by the San Mateo Union High School District, has reached a settlement with the district, resolving his appeal of the district board's decision to terminate him.
Well, I'm really happy that he can still teach," said Arbisman. "I'm kind of bummed that he can't come back to Aragon."

Hey, does this mean we'll never find out if Faustine had done something wrong? Seems like the school district, the CTA, parents, and Faustine just wanted the whole episode to go away. Was everyone afraid to get their day in court?

..reads like a lump sum payment to keep him from going to court..guess we just pay more in taxes for his enhanced package...

Does this mean the end of human sexuality at Aragon? Or just the class?

"..should'nt pay him nothing??????" And they say some students are getting dumber and dumber. This proves it. "Anything" would be proper English. Also, it's not should have went but should have GONE. Common error by the uneducated and some educated. Stanford baseball announcer uses this often.

Comments: Mr.Faustine is an incredible teacher and an outstanding person who devotes unthinkable amounts of time and effort into helping his students. All his students are truly in debt to him

Comments: I am appalled that the san mateo union high school district would suspend a man of such fine character and distinction as Mr. Bill Faustine. Bring Faustine back!

Comments: My daughter, learned SO much in Faustine's class. Everyday she came home excited to talk about what happened in her Applied Physics class and still talks about what a great teacher he is. We don't have enough great teachers to carelessly dismiss one like this. This is especially troubling because of, at the very least, the appearance of a conflict of interest by the investigator who had also been on the opposite side of negotiations with Mr. Faustine, the union representative from Aragon High School. I believe a neutral, third-party should be looking into the charges, as well as the way the "investigation" was done.

Comments: Mr. Faustine was my most influencial teacher at Aragon. He was my teacher in two different classes there, Auto Shop and Applied Physics. He is an amazing teacher who bonds with his students and has a nack for understanding and realting to them compared to most teahcers at Aragon.

Comments: I have known Bill Faustine for many, many years. He is an outstanding teacher! I know him well enough to know he would never do anything inappropriate. Ask the hundreds of students that have had him as a teacher and they will testifiy to his outstanding character! Maybe someone should investigate the motive and character of "that" women who is leading this injustice. Jan Pagan

Comments: I was a student of Bill Faustine's at Capuchino High School during my Freshman year. Mr. Faustine was always there to provide encouragement and a very healthy learning environment. Mr. Faustine has left a very positive, long term effect on my life. At no time did I ever hear, see or feel anything that could be construed as questionable teaching practices. I ran into Mr. Faustine years after completing high school and he was just as pleasant as I remembered.

Comments: As Bill Faustine's brother-in-law, I am utterly shocked at the allegations against him. Bill has always been an inspiration to his students and his family. He is generous, fun loving and humorous. It is a FACT that he means no harm in his words; he’s just trying to help. Ironically, perhaps in his absence from teaching, the school board will taught a lessen by all this.

Comments: I had Mr Faustine when I attended Aragon and I have wonderful memories of how excited he was to teach. In fact as I began to teach in the elementary grade levels his energy and style was the sort of thing I had attempted to emulate.

Comments: Not only did I have Mr. Faustine as a teacher when I was at Aragon, but I kow his children and he is an awesome teacher and I have no reason to believe these allegations are true.

Comments: My daughter was just accepted into her first choice UC applying as a psych major - a BIG THANK YOU to Mr. Faustine. He is one of those few teachers who actually make a difference in kid's lives. Just got my mail regarding the Aragon Fair Share plan - to be honest I'd rather give my donation to the Free Faustine defense fund if there is one - I still cannot believe the school would do this to such a loved/proven educator. I refuse to support the school's actions on this.
