Hey friend,
well I think we may not be communicating as clear, I found a 1.5 acre lot in Morgan hill CA, so I won't be heading to Idaho well unless it hits the fan, I will be hanging out here for the while, the snow and weatherizing information is good, I just wanted to make sure you knew where I would be parking the RV, it is in the agricultural district of Morgan hill, a nice place, a little close to some power lines but hey, those won't work soon, hahaha, now the radio is pushing the racism, and the sheep follow, I wonder how it is on tv? how did I get here, okay, so Rv is out there with a propane leak, trying to figure out how to get the remaining out so I can fix the vent valve, I called this place suburban propane, asked them if they could take it out, said we will call you back, never heard back so I call them tomorrow, I think I am going to invest in a honda generator, and stay away from propane all together, I don't trust the pipes that run through the rv, I may use propane but not in the RV, those honda gens are quiet I can set it up outside or in the gen compartment, and just use it as a back up, or a small electrical heater, when the tempt drops, Oh i have a few sites for the wind turbine I speak of, some crazy, stuff, did you see the cordless drill recycle thing, now check out these, http://www.green-trust.org/2007/12/green-trus... |

started a new post just so the text limit wasn't reached,
http://www.metacafe.com/fplayer/584929/hi_ene... this is the one I want to build, but I think it might be dangerous to birds, and I would have it that high, but I like the way it goes, haha http://www.youtube.com/watch... this is another, coupled with the alternator, that this is a 1000 watt, so I figure I would put it on top of the RV, http://www.kwyjibo.com/rv/view.asp... blue trim, or even two one in front one in back, 2000watt, we rae ready to at least power the heater or electric water heater, or laptops, something, hahah thursday, we leave and dont look back, off grid, completely, drained and cleaned the water tanks, but will be running all through purifiers/filters, the toilet valve broke, but I was able to work something out, so that is fixed, the water pump's pressure is a bit low, so I will need to get one or see if the solar water heater, helps that, I have to get a fridge, so I am looking for a low draw, and thinking about tearing the old on out, just those propane lines need to be capped or drained at least, we will see, so they have been spraying like crazy here, everyday thick overcast, none stop, from sun up to sun down, |

just wanted to make sure I pushed no limits,
our plants are flourishing I just wonder what the chemtrails are doing to them, check out green960.com if you haven't already, they are pretty close to the truth sometimes, and way way off, haha, as usual, I have got to build a fenc e and a gate, so we will see how that goes I haven't done that yet, and a box or case for the generator, I need to find one of those tankless water heaters, electric, at a good price, but the rv ran good, charged well, insulation is really good the cold night it was warm in there, I need to lay the tiles and just get it situated, build a fence, the greenhouse, carports, shed, and extra living space, a large list, the wind turbine, a/c generator, oh I do have a deep cycle 8D battery the huge one, and a deep cycle marine battery, 4D or the car size type, I charged them at my fathers house, and they held pretty good we will see what they do to the generator, I haven't had a chance to plug them together, I want to build a case for it, and install the exhaust properly, I fitted it and started it that way, it was running nice, I need to change the oil in that thing, I think that will be first, then on to solar panels, I told my dad about canada tire for the laptop panels, he will be checking them out, well off to bed for me, or research, I don't feel that tired, although I am just getting over a sickness, I had a little cold but worked two 16 hour days to get us out there, and set up, and that wasted me, so it hit me hard yesterday and today, hope all is well there, we are eathing lemons, they help to get over a sickness quickly, perhaps the shot of vitamin c, 3 more days and we are out there enjoying the wind and earth, I have spent a lot of time out there and I really like it, working and building, I have done it as a job, but now I get to use what I build instead of remodeling someone else's house for them to enjoy, now it is my abode, haha have a nice week, I will be in touch, |

I like the sound of the land you bought
There's not much more help I can offer you cause you have a lot of experience too and sound well underway. I have to adapt my gardening methods because of back and arthritis problems. Can't do the bending or heavy lifting anymore. These limitations really get in the way and took away most physical hobbies like gardening, bees etc. Since Mum got a new hip and isn't allowed to bend either I put deep containers on her walker. We fill them, than she wheels them to where we can see and water them I brought her home from resthome, after heart stopped totally but before hip broke so she could continue to work in her big garden. We have an orchard but no bees to pollinate. We have an Italian beehive nearby but it's not doing the job. I kept bees almost 20 years until varroa mite started to shut all commercial and hobby hives down. We only have a few bumblebees now. They're promoting Mason bees to pollinate now. I have only seen one successful commercial Mason hive setup in an orchard or miniature apple trees. We have few birds now too, who used to pollinate and keep trees bug free. We're next to what used to be a very alive creek, but engineers re-engineered it ~1980, removing life supporting habitat unfortuantely. Had otter, herons, muskrat, salmon. Still have ducks and a pair of eagles but they're nesting trees are rotting and disappearing. My grandparents built this place ~1921, Grandad fed the community during WWII from our garden. Mum's really upset with lack of fruit, but orchard trees are too big for me to hand pollinate. Have a gardener doing all the heavy work for us now. We had had greenhouse since ~1980. Would like to get it going again because no bending required Dad grew up on a farm outside town, he lived maintaining and working on house and garden. But I'm not nearly as strong as he was from his farm work. His raspberry patch survives, I need to restring it. Have a fellow presently fixing our home who knows how to work because he grew up on a Saskatchewan farm where they also fixed everything themselves too. Luckily some of my career work was managing computing facilities so I know how to work with contractors. I delegate these days but it's expensive. Glad you're not moving to far from your Dad. Once you get resettled I hope to keep hearing from you. What plants are you growing that you sell? You're in the right latitude for solar. Geothermal (uses solar) can be installed at bottom of manmade pond. Locally, rec centres and new homes are using geothermal to heat and cool their buildings. Rec centres and homes use solar heating water blankets for hot water. The blankets are not that big, u just got to put them on a SLOPED roof at correct angle for your latitude. |

Your green960 looks good, I'll read it later
We don't use pesticides in our gardening, stopped that in the 1970s when I saw what they did to the bugs. Thanks for the www site |

I like your Morgan Hill choice
I would also like to see the farming community of Ojai Cal. My grandparents retired from their farm etc here to be near more of our family in Santa Cruz area where they're now buried Also my first boss lived in Cupertino. I visited him in 1987 when I was down on a work related conference |

oh yeah cupertino is about 5 minutes from my current house,
I love your history, your parent and grandparents lived such rich lives, in touch with nature, I am just constantly doing research, till the wee hours of the morning, barely able to tear myself out of bed, I thank you for the help you have given me, and I know I will have more questions for you, send me an email and I will send you pictures of the community, it is really awesome, corn field right behind us, mushroom farmers, sod farmers, cherry orchards, that is awesome you have an orchard, I am sorry to hear about the bees, perhaps all the chemtrails dust, GOING SINCE APR 07 WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO this thread is over a year old, that is awesome, celebrate, hahaha, to be near my dad was the reason to stay, I am hoping he will move out to the land with us, he is thinking about it, he wants to get one of those huge new RVs, and live in it, well I will write more have to get to work, |

I picked up a bunch of brochures on how to locate then protect your well's water quality from your own land use AND from your neighbour's land use
when I have time, if you're interested, I can blog you the list of about 12 dos and don'ts.(My environmental work involved water quality issues.) My grandfather had chickens at our current location. The henhouse is currently an indoor/outdoor pen for our cats when we're away. Our municipality, under the greening revival, has just reversed a bylaw that banned chickens in our district. Mum would like a couple of hens and a goat, I might go for the hens. Also, you can save a lot of $ if you dry your laundry on an outdoor laundry line. In the 70s I compared the cost of using a dryer vs drying laundry on a rope between our trees. Go for the rope. So you're going to live on your property using motorhomes. Any plans to build a small home there later? When we built our home some of our neighbours built a greenhouse or garage which they lived in until they could afford to build their home. Once in their home, they rented out the garage to help burn their mortgage We have a lot of hydroponic greenhouses here. I could take a course to run my own. They sell mostly tomatoes and red, green and yellow sweet peppers. I prefer organic growing, however, hydroponics which is a computer controlled form of drip irrigation, could be an extremely efficient way to use your limited water supply when on a well or cistern. We've always been on strict watermetering here, already started for summer. However, even the drip irrigation we were advised to use by Water Authority is not strict enough now because far too many new condos etc being built. Was 100,000 people 40 years ago, now nearly 400,000 on a reservoir which a friend doubled in size 2 years ago. I grow a lot of herbal plants because they drought hardy, make excellent landscaping, good for bees and butterflies and very easy to prune when hands hurt from arthritis. Edible too I measured the amount of water needed for one year when I grew vegies on our farm's septic field. The field was at least 30*90 sq feet (big). I used 2000 gallons, but could have doubled that. This told us how much gravity fed cistern capacity we should build beside the vegies to water them during summer. Our farm was a mix of rock and swamps containing a mountain ridge, valley and plateaus. Covered with douglas fir, madrona and oak. We were in a winter wet belt but much drier in the summer than town. We were 20 minutes outside Victoria. On the farm, extreme fire risk in summer, so we had a 2000gallon tank beside the machine shop which the fire department provided their own hose hookup for which my husband welded on. However we decided to evacuate immediately during fires because fire truck took half an hour to climb our mountain ridge to reach the property. We also had a lot of lightning in summer in that area. The Astrophysical Observatory computer next to us took a direct hit while I worked there. We built our partially solar farm house on highest point of the ridge for incredible view. Had to include a special Ufor grounding system for the house as we built on bedrock which can't be grounded. Final step, build a windmill next to house, because the windmill takes the lightning before the shorter house. There is a cone of safety from lightning around the windmill, like a shadow zone. Otherwise the madronna, for some reason, took the hits, rather than the taller Douglas firs. Watch for rats when living in bush, they're lots of them and big. They nested in our house until we finished it. My fencing kept deer out of my vegie garden but not rabbits. Had to pile rocks along bottom of fence netting to keep rabbits from eating snap peas. More to come... |

Had a second garden I rented in a Community Garden which had lush soil in a valley bottom.
This second garden supplemented the hard scrabble I had to deal with on septic field garden even after putting laying swamp soil on top of the field material. I assume you might be able to commute to Silicon valley employment for extra income as I looked up your future area yesterday on Wikipedia. Nice area, similar to what we had in 70s and 80s that's why I gave you the above experiences today. If you have madronna at your place, the holes in them were a natural gathering place of wild honey bees in our trees. They do NOT sting you. Their flight path is upwards towards the sun. If they swarm while new queens appear, they do NOT sting you as they're body is rigid because it's engorged with honey so they can eat until they create a new hive elsewhere. They need a surface source of water to exist. In the 70s and 80s our trees provided habitat for lots of species of birds who ate all the bad bugs, keeping our trees and plants healthy. Gotta run. Keep in touch, once you move |

oh man I have to comment as I read,
we are going to get hens and a goat that is for sure, we are already using the clothes line, I remember that when I was a kid, my grandmas dryer always broke, so she used the clothes lines in the back, we do all out laundry in the tub, and hang them on the balcony, MOVING SATURDAY MORNING well the plan is to build a shed, and perhaps a yurt, once I take the whole property, I would build a home, but it would be more like a castle, hahahah, to withstand the coming events, Our plan is to hang out in the greenhouse, sleep and cook in the rv, and have a tent as the main living room, but living in a greenhouse would be cool, hahah, once you send me an email I will send you pics, it will help to visualize what I am talking about, by the way the green960 thing is a radio station, they are progressive whatever that means, but they speak some truth, well it is interesting we live in the old madrone are, I think that might mean those trees flourished there once, well I will be commuting to santa clara, to work there, and my wife and children will be tending the gardens and greenhouse while I am away, I am very interested in building a windmill, I am learning to build an alternator, out of scratch, and learning how to wire the coils in a phase 3 pattern, but one of the A/C units I have uses phase 1, so I may have one turbine running that one, when needed, I am looking for ways to generate and harness energy, as we will be using generators for our power, and gas is not getting cheaper, so I want to dive into solar and wind power, as soon as I can, the sun is ready, hahahaha, it is somwhere around 99 degrees out here now, lets hope it stays around there, and not higher, as we will be turning the ac on a lot, hahaha, time to get the mist going in the greenhouse, well the plan is, tomorrow I go out there, and try to burn all of our propane, as the tank is leaking, so I am going to stay away from gas, and just use the electricity, I think that will be safer, I will repair the tank, but I am going to use gas outside the RV, dont need that thing burning up, well I will write more tonight, have some things to take care of, take care! |

Hi Mr B.
As I sit in the sunny backyard at a friend's place on the Mainland 2 of the calibration planes sprayed us. It spread out really fast and blew inland quickly. Her dogs eyes are really red. We figure it's the spraying. We've tried eye remedies but they don't get rid of the redness. When the air is too thick we can't see the surrounding mountains which are only 15-20 miles away. The visibility has been bad this past week. There's a LOT of flu like sickness around here. Everyone I know has some form of it. I've had 3 types of flu/pneumonia since last November and they're STILL going around. Crazy However, I'm just reading one of my grandmother's books titled "Folk Medicine" by Dr. D.C. Jarvis. Apparently the Vermont climate is really variable so they used to eat and drink all sort of wild plants etc to stay well as a defense against the weather and deficient soil quality for growing food crops. The book is loaded with pertinent info. The author was still practicing medecine at 80 when he wrote the book. As he practiced family medicine he got his patients to try out all sorts of "folk" remedies for him, as well he observed and worked with dairy herds and used state of the art spectrographic equipment to analyze the items they were drinking or eating to see why they derived good results. He used scientific riguer to confirm the "folk" lore actually worked. It was written in 1957 but should keep us well still today. Initially I'm going to try his daily apple cider vinegar with/without honey drinks. He states, it's important to keep our urine acidic to prevent and reduce a lot of illness. He also looked at the effects of stress and working on stuff you don't want to work on versus what you do want to work on. In all cases he could see the urine swinging between alkaline and acidic depending on the situation. I know from canning fish, fruit and vegetables that canning jars of acidic food such as berries and cherries can still be eaten when they're 30 yrs old. However, green beans and salmon, which are alkaline can give you botulism if the rubber gasket was not perfectly sealed. My Mother-in-law taught me to add vinegar when I was canning fish. So far so good, not dead yet. The well management booklets, I'll dig up when I get back home and email you the todo list I don't know your email address as you mentioned you want to send photos over email. Problem, my email box fills up faster than I can keep up with so you may find it bounces on you. Also, because of all the work looking after Mum I have not bothered with uptodate computer or digital camera, that will come later. So we have no photos where we could reciprocate. I could do that by snail mail. This blog is good for our textual conversation rather than filling my email box. There's nothing in our conversation here that wouldn't also be monitored if we did email. If others can learn from what we're doing that's good when it comes to protecting our environment. |

3 phase is a good idea. We had that for our machine shop.
We had a meter shack outside our house. One leg ran from it to the machine shop. The second leg supplied the house. We had to make sure when the machine shop was running that the electrical draw down did not affect the neighbours lights etc. 3phase is good for running industrial type equipment and can give you 240 rather than 120 volts. I've forgotten a lot of the details of my intensive training in that field, it's a long time ago. I just got a 0.7 watt night-lite for our kitchen for when Mum gets up in the middle of the night. Canada Tire sells it. I have another light on 24hrs a day for her, it's now a 7 watt bulb. They're compact fluorescent. However because of mercury content you must return them to a place that will recycle them. If you're interested in Yurts, we camped almost next door to a Yurt factory in southern Oregon beside I5 in the late 90s. They come in all sizes, impressive. Regarding the RV. You still may want to put a roof over it because trailers and RV rooves are bad for leaking. That's the major reason we put our trailers in a shedlike structure up here. It's now fun having to reseal the thing with tar once it's leaked. Extra roof, also helps you cooler. Trailers up here can easily go back to the 1960s. One friend is living in a trailer, under a metal structure that was intended to be a machine shop. They still have sunlight and one area they can eat and sit out under when the rain is pouring. Mentioning the greenhouse and machine shop. We considered growing mushrooms on the a second floor of our shop or living up there. Have a good move. If you want to email me photos than do you think it's a good idea putting our email addresses here on our blog where it will be broadcast globally? We need to give it some thought. As I mentioned I don't exchange visual matter right now on the Internet. Goota run, take care |

they erased my post,
"I just got a 0.7 watt night-lite for our kitchen for when Mum gets up in the middle of the night. Canada Tire sells it. I have another light on 24hrs a day for her, it's now a 7 watt bulb. They're compact fluorescent. However because of mercury content you must return them to a place that will recycle them." I WOULD BE CAREFUL WITH THESE BULBS, we had one it cracked and started spewing out this white smoke, stunk really bad, the light still worked it was lucky when I changed it I didnt put the light cover on, I think it was mercury vapor, I will not use those for that reason, as for the emails, they will monitor our conversation, I made a new email, although they trace our IP address when we post, I figure, we are being watched no matter what, my new email is solarcoward@yahoo.com of course I will have to qualify you when you email me, so bear with me, I figure you can send something in your initial email that will let me know it is you, and for the impostors, your smell is easily found... I can put the photos on a photos share site, but I would rather not broadcast where they are here, I will send you the link through email, well tonight I go and try to burn off the propane, finish the greenhouse roof, lay tile in the RV, and try to enjoy the evening out there, I hope I don't blow up, I have been thinking about building a cover for the RV< that will keep it cool and less wear and tear on the roof, I am trying to figure out the cheapest and most efficient way, I still need to make my solar water heater as I will NOT be running anything on the propane just yet, it is really hot here, around 100 degrees, |

Hi Mr B
I WOULD BE CAREFUL WITH THESE BULBS, we had one it cracked and started spewing out this white smoke, stunk really bad, the light still worked it was lucky when I changed it I didnt put the light cover on, I think it was mercury vapor, I will not use those for that reason, thanks for the warning, I haven't experienced that yet but I have heard of the risk. They say if it spews to pick it up in newspaper, wrap it up than dispose of safely but make sure to keep it off your skin when handling it. From our water quality work, my boss considered mercury as one of the most dangerous things we could release into the environment. We had it in our huge amount of environmental monitoring equipment all over Canada so it was a big disposal issue too. Our city had our dentists change their practices so no mercury go into our sewers from their sinkbasins. as for the emails, my email is solarcoward@yahoo.com of course I will have to qualify you when you email me, so bear with me, I figure you can send something in your initial email that will let me know it is you okay, I'll set up a free yahoo email too. I had one a long time ago, I forgot about that trick Also, your throw away cell phones for the same reason, but I don't think our Walmart sells them here yet. Your Feds hate them because they're so difficult to track, thank heavens something is still private I can put the photos on a photos share site, but I would rather not broadcast where they are here, I will send you the link through email. My friend I'm visiting is much more computer literate them me on handling online videos etc can help me get used to your displays once we're setup that way well tonight I go and try to burn off the propane, finish the greenhouse roof, lay tile in the RV, and try to enjoy the evening out there, I hope I don't blow up, B careful. I have been thinking about building a cover for the RV< that will keep it cool and less wear and tear on the roof, I am trying to figure out the cheapest and most efficient way cheapest to start quick and dirty is tie tarp(s) to trees than park RV under it, same way as protecting tent from rain during camping trip. Later, as I mentioned earlier, 4 or more wooden posts framed with a slanted roof to park RV under. Then slanted roof can collect rainwater into rainbarrel or support solar panels at most efficient angle for your latitude Popular Science sells hooped frames that are covered with green tarplike material which you park a vehicle under. The spray guck is so bad on my vehicle that's parked outside fulltime vs in a garage that I'd like to get one of the hooped jobs. You have to anchor corners with concrete incase of heavy winds. , I still need to make my solar water heater as I will NOT be running anything on the propane just yet, it is really hot here, around 100 degrees, You're a lot hotter than we are right now. By the way we're lunching on the US side of border. We're 5 mins from both sides of border here. We can NOT see Vancouver Island at all cause you know what is so thick. They cut our sun off totally sometimes, it's so bad. are you planning to point the fresnel lens at water in order to make it boil? You can heat using a solar oven too. I haven't played with solar water heat yet but I'd like to Just a swimming pool on a hot day will really heat up where you are (basis of geothermal heating). I found that out an outdoor pool in Portland Ore. on a hot day. It was like being in a warm bath tub. Gotta run. We'll do the yahoo thing asap. |
