And in other countries, gays are stoned to death, beheaded, castrated, and put on fire. Does your "religion" also teach of this. Apparently, your bible does. Why not take up the arms you need to and start using them as your bible instructs? Not to so is intentionally defying God. What is wrong? Man's law may get in the way?
The commandment to put people to death for the crime of homosexual intercourse was directed towards the judges of Israel, who had the right of the high justice, the middle, and the low in Israel.

There are two types of commandments in the Bible- general commandments which apply to all, and specific commandments that apply to a select person or persons. For example, God's commandment to Abraham to go to the land of Canaan was a specific commandment. No one is arguing that everyone on Earth must live in Canaan.

The commandments against homosexual intercourse and intercourse between stepmother and stepson are general commandments, applicable to all. The commandment to execute those guilty of those offenses was a specific commandment to the judges of Israel.

this poster is one who has been banned repeatedly, he's used names like "righteous-1", and claimed to be a deacon in the Catholic church. He's nothing but a two-bit troll.

The mayor is a just a garden variety politician: he'll do/say whatever it takes to get/stay elected. Career politicians are in it for the power, prestige, and money. It's a racket.

This politician is speaking out of both sides of his mouth on the issue. He's showing no leadership whatsoever. How is that surprising to anyone?

I never claimed to be. I'll always be a student of the bible. The more one studies it, the more they learn there is to discover and the more wisdom God provides.

Often I present the scriptures on a topic and let people read for themselves.

You should try presenting some like these:

Exodus 21:20 "If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, 21 but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property.

1 Timothy 2:11A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. 13For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

Deuteronomy 22:28 If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver.[c] He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.

Numbers 31: 15 "Have you allowed all the women to live?" he asked them. 16 "They were the ones who followed Balaam's advice and were the means of turning the Israelites away from the LORD in what happened at Peor, so that a plague struck the LORD's people. 17 Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, 18 but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.

OK, so you've presented them. Do you have God's wisdom as to their meaning toward salvation?

1 Corinthians 1:18
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 1:21
For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

The text in Genesis 2 is crystal clear that the man was created before the plants. This directly contradicts the creation narrative in Genesis 1.

If you were half a scholar, you would know that Genesis is a merger of several traditions. I suggest you research the multiple traditions that were merged into the scriptureas we know it today before you talk about what you know of Holy Scripture.

I read it over and see no conflict.
Genesis 1 has a day by day account and man is created after plants.
Genesis 2 refers to the creation of the earth and heavens stating there was no rain, plants or man. Then it says he created man and placed him into a garden He had planted. The past tense indicates that the plants were already created.
I checked several versions and they all agreed.

<quoted text> I ask One question. Why do you refer to history that you have absolutely no knowledge of? Go watch more cartoons.
Oh, I do not have knowledge. Tell me when the rights of a minority (namely those that are black) placed to a popular vote in a state? Still looking I see. It never happened. Blacks, just like women, obtained their civil rights through the legal process and going to court. Nobody voted on their rights. Not a soul. Judges made the decision and if you did not like the decision then too bad.

Apparently for gays, it is the same scenario. The California and Massachusetts court systems decided on this matter for gays. Guess what? Like it or not, gays have gotten married in Massachusetts for nearly 5 years now and the borders are being opened to allow out of state couples to get married. California has had gay marriages for a little more than a month. What happens to those marriages if the amendment should pass? Well, that is hard to say. You can not retroact law. Sorry, my little pony, you just can not do it. My marriage will remain legal, whether you like it or not and my home state will legally recognize it once the dust settles.

The freedom to express ones opinion publicly is protected, getting a free pass from the consequences of doing so is not...
