Protests Over Expired Food at Grocery Store

Demonstrators showed up with foods they claimed were expired when purchased from the Su Vianda grocery store on Santa Clara Street next to San Jose City Hall today.

So why didn't they contact the management first and talk to them? Were the items only a month or two out of date? Is that really unsafe? I think Su Vianda is a great store when I was there. Sounds like someone is just out to get free publicity.
