Why do all the Rubes/Rednecks want to move out here, you guys are foreign to us.
Hmm, I'm wondering why so many from the Pacific states are moving inland. So many here in my area from California. Yet, aren't we still allowed to move where we want to?
Frankly, I've met some real "Nasties" from the Pacific coast. If you are such, please stay where you are.

Didn't you see the news item yesterday of the homeless couple? He works full-time @$19 an hour yet can't afford the rent there in California. He and his wife live in their van.

Yo ! say just hook up and link with www.crimemapping.com real time crime alerts and mapping and you can know for your self if it's safe in Diego for you. There has been an 8% increase in crime reported by the BCA in San Diego
that is from un-employment and some 150,000 job seekers trying to find work and out of work in San Diego County. Still you can avoid the areas by getting the crime alerts link and most sheriff departments have links as well the low crime areas are Coronado Island in San Diego and La Jolla if you have the loot $$$$ to rent or buy there but no place is 100% safe on earth but it's better to go with the low risk areas to reduce your chances of being a victim of crime. I've been in and out of San Diego since 1986 and thus far have not been a victim of crime. So get the crime app's on your I-Phone and go from there.

San Diego, CA is definitely a safe place to live with great year around weather. You have plenty of military bases. There are great malls (Horton Plaza, Fashion Valley, Mission Valley). There are beautiful beaches. Los Angeles and Mexico are not too far away. I love the Coronado Bridge. There are great schools in San Diego. San Diego is expensive, but amazing. I love San Diego.

ha ha, are you people kidding "Expensive" I lived in NJ near Manhattan NY and my property taxes were 10,100 a year, I moved here from San Antonio Texas and you all have not witnessed Crime until you have lived in that Hell Hole of a place..

I had my vehicle broken into 3 times the first year I moved there, You cannot go anywhere in the fear of having your vehicle broken into, I have never witnessed the degree of property crime there in San Antonio Tx until I moved there, "Idiots" breaking into business's pulling doors off the front doors rushing in and grabbing shyt and fleeing real fast...

I live on Pacific Beach, and I am aware that San Diego has it's problems but, not like where I moved from which is San Antonio Texas, yes there are many Californians who move there to purchase cheaper homes but, when you compare the crime rate vs San Diego, you're better off here...

No one here in San Diego have a reason to complain about crime here, yes it does exists but not like many places, also It's much cleaner here than San Antonio Texas thus many people will claim that it is so expensive here?..

You people have no idea what is so expensive until you have lived on the East Coast such as New Jersey and New York, you will be thankful for San Diego's cost of living...

I appreciate your explaining your backround so well....i was in San Antonio and El Paso, years ago and was'nt a fan of either....I used to spend summers, with family in Rowland Heights, in the valley....and even there, simple homes that would be $80,000-$160,000 in most of America, are $475,000 there....and we aren't talking about a nice area...more like gang world.....Here is an example...i live in Palm Beach county, Florida.....no state income taxes....Condo's $45,000 and up, homes $90,000 and up....most at the $200-250,000 range....i pay $2400 in property taxes.....Beaches here, are actually nicer and the water is warm all year round....We lived in Oyster Bay, briefly when i was in 1st grade, but i have never wanted to live there.....

Yes, my wife moved back to SD after living in Orlando Fl, she claims that it was just as expensive living in Florida as it is living in Ca?..

I can honestly say that I feel much safer here in San Diego Ca then I did living 3 yrs in San Antonio Texas; I see people here in SD when they park their vehicles and walk into a convienence store and leave their windows down?...

You could never do that in San Antonio, let me tell you people something about San Antonio, when you have people who will scour neigborhoods at night just to steal things and burglarize your home or vehicles...

San Antonio is a tourist and family city yet there is so much crime there, People chain their barbecue grills up because you have thieves who will take your grill(s), they even steal your flower pots from your front porches, your water hoses, christmas ornaments, brand new trash cans..

There are really bold thieves in San Antonio Texas, if you think the crime here in san diego is bad; pay a visit to San Antonio and live there for a year or less and find out...

Yes, the property is very cheap and affordable but, it is very unsafe to live there. I am here in San Diego and I can finally have a piece of mind now...

I moved to San Diego Aug-1-2012. I agree its hard for me to fit in. I'm from Ohio. I am just a country gal,I see the looks I get from the Locals.I really don't care what they think about me,I feel this way, until you pay my bills and wipe my rear than don't judge me.I'm not into the gangs or drugs. So I think that a guy from Kentucky wants to move here than bring it on,its an adventure that you can always look back on.I actually hated my first 5 months here, now I wouldn't want to be any where else.I love it here now.

Dude, go and pay a visit to SA and find out for youself, don't take my word, I promise you that you would love SD with a passion...

Just go and pay a visit to SA and compare the crime with SD and do your research...I would say it's nothing here like it is back in San Antonio when it comes to property crime and murders..

If you people who live here in SD think it's so bad here, go visit other places around the country and come back and whine about SD...

Yes, so is Texas no state income tax. I would say the problem with Florida is the Job market depending on what your profession is. I worked with an Idiot there in San Antonio who moved from LA' he swore that I will be struggling to find a job here in Ca..

Needless to say I found two jobs in less than a week here, so I am happy, well I suppose that he put his foot in his mouth...
