A city of San Diego lifeguard who rescued a suspected illegal immigrant from a Tijuana River Valley drainpipe during a flood received a national award for valor at Tuesday's City Council meeting.

If that's all it takes to receive a reward for Valor, every school teacher, police officer, welfare worker, interpreter etc etc etc, should also get one. How can they not laugh the arses off when they read this story. But kudo's to the lifeguard. The next thing they'll try is the sewers. Oh yea, I think they did try that.

I disagree. In fact this post shows your ugly human spirit. This man put his life at risk to save another man from drowning in a storm drain... During a flood!! Don't take away what he did by mocking the award. Most teachers, welfare workers, interpreters etc etc would run away from such danger.
