How hard is it to provide some water, shade, and a place to poop for your employees? Holy crap what scumbags. Yes, I'll pay $0.10 more for a cucumber if you give your employees water so they don't die in the fields.

Well said and I totally agree....cannot you not supply basic common needs on the job for your employees??? I cannot believe that this poor girl suffered and died for this Farms cruel negligence because that's what it is!!!! |

I agree completely. And when it's 100 degrees outside, the workers shouldn't have to ASK for water and shade breaks - it should be mandatory!

Thats just what happens when you come here to exploit yourself.

I wonder what the mexican gov't would do if an illegal pregnant guatamalan lady died working in mexico? I'm guessing not a whole lot. And I'm sure their rate of farmworker deaths is far, far higher than in the US.
But the US media and the democrats will wring their hands and call america bad. |
|
Besides, most farm labor contractors are Mexican themselves. So here are Mexicans exploiting Mexicans. Remember Juan Corona a few years back? He was the labor contractor that worked them hard and when it came time to pay them he'd kill the workers. So what's bad with America or Americans, it seem to be a localized, by race, problem. I feel sorry for the young lady but what did she die from? she could have had some other health problem also. A lot of workiers die on the job every year, is the Governor going to attend their funerals or is this just grandstanding and catering to Mexicans? |

These people ( yes people )are working in America to pick FOOD for AMERICANS to eat . So why shouldn't AMERICA give them better working conditions??? It is not about WHO is working the fields ....it is the fact that SOMEONE is working the jobs that need to get done to FEED AMERICANS !

So now farm workers are homies? Last I checked homies were the unemployed who sat around fighting about a color, doing drugs, and drinking all day.
