This is 2008. We have laws now. We are not a 3rd world country like the ones south of here.

And the Indians owned the land how? From whom did they buy it. Who issued the title? How many different tribes had "owned" the land and been killed off or pushed off in the thousands of years before Europeans came and grabbed it from the tribe that happened to be squatting on it at that time.
What are you, in grade school? For many many decades has that sophmoric little notion been floating unchalleneged in your tiny brain? Grow up and think a little, would ya?

And who did the white europeans buy the land from? Oh, that's right, they DIDN'T. So by your reasoning, they had no ownership rights to the land either. They landed on it and said "this is mine now." How was that fair?

That is the most retarded version of American history that I have ever heard. The Native Americans were stewards of the land who over a 50-60 thousand year time span developed complex regional customs and cultures that would rival any European nation. Remember the Aztecs and their complex agricultural, mathmatical, and spriritual inovations? How disgusting of you to dismiss them as mere "squatters." You would do well to re-examine the true history of this nation before you spout off your misguided information.

"Native Americans" who were "stewards of the land" harvesting buffalo by driving herds over cliffs? Who set fire to the forests to hunt game, creating what's now referred to the as "Great Plains?" Those stewards? Do you think the Aztecs were living in Plymouth, or Virginia? The North American tribes who lived here for 50-60 thousand years, and they couldn't come up with the wheel? You've drunk deeply the revisionist history Kool-Aid if you believe everyone living in the New World was just one big family before white people showed up. Poorly educated does not equal educated.

And to Sac Girl: to paraphrase P.J. O'Rourke, the average human being on this planet does not have ready access to fresh food, clean water, medical care, or quality education. Most women on this planet live lives of horrible oppression.(You know, the way women lived as members of American Indians' delightfully complex culture) You should thank your lucky stars life isn't fair.

Most criminals did not commit a crime at some point in their lives. And your point is?? Why this incessant bandwagon by the leftist/communist news media to justify and apologize for illegal immigration. Simple fact is gang crimes, graffiti, and societal devastation (the 3rd Worlding of CA) is rapidly turning CA into una basura. Una vez illegal, siempre illegal.

If you honestly believe that CA is turning into a third world country it's about time you got out and seen a bit of the world... Christ, go down and visit parts of the south-east (GA, AL, MS, SC) if you don't have a passport. There are areas down here that are closer to a third world country than anywhere in CA.

Oh, you meant they still speak their native tongue... get over it. Oh yeah... Communist: I think it's time you looked that word up... just because someone doesn't believe that we should kick out everyone with a last name like Ramirez or Gonzalez hardly makes them a communist... perhaps it's about time you looked up that word so you can properly use it in a sentence.

Sac Girl, what happened 400 years ago is totally different than what is happening today. Then they were underpopulated and you either made it or died. Today we are overpopulated, our resources are being drained, your taxes are going to go up to pay for all this.
It is not wise to look out the rear view mirror to see where you've been, you are better served by looking out the windshield to see where you are going.

Jason, go to East Los Angeles and you will see a third world country and they still speak Spanish. It makes GA, LA, AL and all others you mentioned look like progressive countries.

Pab, you misunderstood my point. Sacramento Bob implied that the Native Americans did not own the land because they didn't "buy" it and nobody issued them the title. I was merely pointing out the flaw in his comment because the Europeans didn't "buy" it from anyone either. And you are right, we can't change history, we can only live in the now but if someone has a blurred vision of history, I'm going to clear it up regardless.

Good day to you.
