Howdy, Folks!

I would say, "Loving the weather!", except who knows what it'll be like, today..?!?

The annual camping trip is coming up, in the high mountains, and I can only hope it does not snow! Love my ski, but the water is ALWAYS cold up there, and it feels a lil suffocated at the altitude. Refreshing! LOL

Trying to head to Alabama again this year, but the flights are outrageous! Dad's on pacemaker #5. We've had several serious conversations about death, and umpteen-kizzilion jokes! I know. Death is no laughing matter. Unless you happen to be my father and I, and he refuses to give in. I'll miss him when he's gone, but I'll enjoy every conversation we have that makes people shake their heads, in the meantime!

Have a lovely rest of the week!

Hope you have a good time and maybe find a local soul mate. We know you have an affinity for dark men and neurotic jerks.

Oh, Gramma, be nice..! Thank you for wishing me a good time and a soul mate, though!

Mephisto. Not even gonna click. Nosiree.

Hope all are well, and the heat is a lil less wherever you are! Gardening has been...challenging, this year. First off, I don't really want to go out there. Secondly, I didn't want a garden, other than a small patio type.

Anyone know anything about sticky corn? I'd never even heard of it....

i get tired of people pretending to care about you.
And then all of the sudden ignore you and act as though they don't know u exist.
I'm not trusting no one anymore.
there are no good people anymore
we live in such a wicked sad unfair world
im so done with people(men,women,etc)
Im closing myself off.

"Sticky Corn" is a variety of corn from Asia. The kernels are slightly more waxier and more glutinous than the sweet corn we know in the US. Sometimes known as "sticky waxy" corn or simply "waxy corn", it can be eaten just like regular corn.
But it's not as sweet so it works well in savory recipes & dishes.

Welcome, pearl. I understand your feelings, and hope that you are able to find or be befriended by those who will help you get beyond this low time.

LOL Jenn..!!! Trust me...I am NOT taking any credit OR derision for this garden. I turn the water on. I turn the water off. I hold a bag when hen-pecked to go wander the vast wasteland.(It's not hen-pecked when it's a guy, is it...)
I miss you, too!!

Thanx, Gramma! The little I know is that the bag of kernals came from Cambodia. They are growing HUGE, much larger, taller than the variety I am used to seeing here. And they are covered in 'smut'. Since I have absolutely NO affinity towards this massive venture, I have done very little investigating, but it appears to be a bad thing.*nods* And I'm especially leery, as I have allergies bad enough to put me down, when not kept in check. I have NO idea if this stuff will affect me, but I'm avoiding it, just in case.*eyes the cornfield warily*

Otherwise, 1/2 the watermelons were small but tasty (the other 1/2 disintegrated upon cutting), and the cantaloupes are FABULOUS! Tomatoes are...odd. Squash and zucchini are doing the normal breed-like-bunnies-in-a-closet , and need to be harvested every 3 & 1/4 hours. No problem there!

Have a wonderful evening, everyone! Be nice, stay out of trouble.

^_^
