Yes, California is one of the highest taxed and yet in the biggest financial hole. The article mentions poor cash management. Agreed. We cannot have any new taxes. The state needs to make the cuts to balance the budget. We cannot have the already high tax go up at the federal, state and local level. All government wants to increase taxes and defer the problem to the tax payer. The tax payer is short also and does not have the money to pay higher taxes. Make the cuts. Note that Long Beach has agreed to lower the pay increases for a year but is not making pay cuts. Well a year will be here very soon and the economy will not be any better and probably worse. How will they make agreed pay increase next year with less money that this year. All government thinks this will end and we will be back to the way it was before. This is short sited as the economy will be slow for years and the government only delayed spending thinking things will be better soon. This mismanagement will lead to many more and larger cuts next year and a few years out. Cut the budgets now or face hard times real soon. Wake up to the new economy. Don't expect better for 5-7 years maybe longer. WE ARE IN A NEW ERA>

We are paying more tax. It does not work. As soo as the tax increases then their spending is increased. Just like a spendthrift that gets a better job. Does it help them pay thier debt down. No, it only allows them to borrow more. Thus they and the government, more oney means more spending and more debt. Cut the government and with the savings they will learn to live on less and may even find more wasted money.

We will soon be (like) a socialist country where the tax is close to 45% for all people. Obama is pushing us that way with the health care initiative that he and his democrats are trying to pass.

It is just a matter of time. When I retire in a little over five years I will go to a state that actually believes in its' residents and doesn't try to tax people out of their homes and businesses.

I have an idea. Since the states/feds dont think twice about cutting teachers, who are necessary to teach our children, I think cutting the congress to one representive per state and one senator per state, who do nothing to teach our children, would put a lot of money back into the state/federal coffers. Do you think they would be so quick to give up their cushy jobs? I think not. It is too easy to put someone else out of a job and keep extorting from the taxpayer.

Californians' didn't care about our Public Schools before the recession??? We are the ONLY State to elect pols who enticed millions of illiterate illegals to infest our State. Most all in the know say that the California is the ONLY State which will NEVER recover.

The majority of voters/citizens/parents prefer to elect the slugs who used their majority in the Legislature to tear our State to Shreds. Duh...Oh yeah....We're pathetic.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Capricorn

Someone is in a finger-wagging mood and unfortunately they seem to be concentrating on you! Maybe they think you've fallen from grace for some reason, or perhaps you're simply the only person who happens to be around when they feel like letting off steam. Do your best not to fall into an equally critical and disgruntled mood, because it will soon make you feel wretched.
