Funny, isn't it? Kill someone, and the "obvious" solution is to sentence death. But if you just maim someone, suddenly eye-for-an-eye becomes barbaric.

Why not?! If this person attacked another with the intention of harming or killing them, why shouldn't they have to endure the same fate? Maybe then we wouldn't have to many repeat criminals or people in the system period.

The only problem is that a 'good' person would probably end up having to harm or take the life of the indecient one.

Ah, yes...just one more example of "justice" from the religion of peace.

Let's all remember this the next time some idiot says that it's just a "cultural" thing to bring Sharia law to the USA.

Sounds good, to bad we couldn't do that eye for an eye in this country. Of course we would do it in this country, then put the guy on permanent disability and pay for all medical expenses as well as refurb his house to better accomodate his newly paralized life style and give food stamps, etc.

Oh boy...

Possession of controlled substances
OMVI
Public urination
Indecent exposure
Tax evasion
Shoplifting

Would any of you brainiacs care to explain how we're supposed to apply eye-for-an-eye to those crimes? Or maybe we can just focus on reducing crime instead of proposing barbarism that makes us feel tough! Justice, not vengance!

There is a chance it will but not in a manner you will like. "Eye for an eye" is just part of Sharia law. How do you feel about your daughter being caned for holding a boy's hand in public or stoned to death for having sex and not being married?

So if they find a hospital who will paralyze the criminal, then doesn't it follow that the doctor who performs the procedure would likewise need to be paralyzed? and so on and so on....

OMVI- Put them on the hood of a car driven by a drunk driver (he has to stay sober)
Public urination- Placed in a porta-potty at a tailgate
Indecent exposure- Burka, or have some nasty, fat guy expose themself to the perp (perv)
Tax evasion-must pay the tax liablility of a random taxpayer
Shoplifting-open his house to the public, Free for all!!
