As I read the plans (and spoke w/ Jennifer a few months back) they are going to tear down all the little kid jungle area. Erect a plastic and rubber, cookie cutter set of currently trendy stuff from the "Justin Vance/Champion Recreation" PlayCraft catalog including a new prefab gazebo. You can see many of their parks around if built in the last decade. Hand built pressure treated wood stuff built by the community to look like castles was trendy in the 90s-- thus we built that (yes I helped).

They plan to move the existing gazebo and pieces of the teen graffiti castle over to the entrance to make it an homage to the past. If they can't move it then they'll rebuild a couple of the towers at the gate.

When done the current set of trendy 30something Moms will have a new park to please them instead of the older and aging park that pleased the 30something moms in the 90s. It was deteriorating though.

Hey just putting in the new fences to replace the cheap chain link our local grunge rockers (and Fairhope Gangstas- haha) trashed during their nightly path of destruction in the last decade has improved the look greatly. Good job City of FH.

All in All I still recall that property belongs to the BC School System, so the school board may tear it all down any day they wish and put up a parking lot or office. We rent it month to month. At least BP is paying for this redecoration on someone else's property.
