$107 Billion spent on the border?
That works out to what,
$107,000,000 per detained illegal?
Good to see our tax $$$$ so effectively used.

Why does this surprise anyone? It's what the government does best- spend other people's money.

You nailed it. Opening the Border and allowing countless millions more benefit and service starved foreign peasants to come in illegally and demand their RIGHTS from the America people is the only path President Obama should follow.

To be fair, we must also send fleets of Planes to Africa to bring millions of their unskilled and uneducationed to suck off American taxpayers, overwhelm our public schools, and hospitals and delude the value of our Citizenship too.

For the price, we could have sent every man, woman, and child in Mexico a check for
$1,000

The phony Iraq war will cost upwards of $5 trillion.

Does McCain complain about the cost?

And what did his little stunt on the USS Forrestal
cost the nation? In lives? Taxpayer dollars?

The numbers are stunning, but as I understand it
these include significant infrastructure expansion
in a tiny, impoverished town. The water plant and
lines, electrical improvements, and roads are
included in those numbers. Usually those costs
are carried by a bond and paid for over a period
of many years. Apparently the feds decided it
would be unfair to hammer the locals with the
added costs.

For me the question is whether it was the most
cost effective option. Rather than put all these
people in one place, why not spread these people
around in different towns in the area? Is it wise
to create a kind Border Patrol ghetto?
