The Petronas takeover of Progress, and CNOOC of Nexen is not in the best interest of Canada. These two companies who's trying to take over Canada's strategic companies is a lose lose situation for the government.

Petronas, a Federation of Malaya government owned company, and whose assets and wealth came from the natural resources of Sabah and Sarawak, is using its financial resources that came from deceit. Petronas gets only 5% of the revenues generated from these two areas and the remaining 95 % goes to Petronas and the Federation of Malaya.

As the world knows, Sabah and Sarawak are being internally colonized by the Federation of Malaya(11 states). Malaya retained the name Malaysia when Singapore ejected out of the supposed to be new nation Federation Of Malaysia( 4 countries). The Federation of Malaysia no longer exist and now Malaya has been internally colonizing Sabah and Sarawak for 49 years.

Until the Federation of Malaya(11 states) give autonomy or independence to Sabah and Sarawak, sovereign nations should not sell their strategic companies to Petronas.

No to Petronas takeover of any Canada's strategic assets. Petronas is going to export Canada's oil to feed oil hungry China.

Internal colonist Federation of Malaya(11 states) must stop colonizing Sabah and Sarawak first before considering buying any sovereign assets. Return the money that was illegally siphoned off from Sabah and Sarawak.

Ottawa government should not allow Petronas to buy Progress. Petronas, a Malaysian state oil company, got almost all their money from exploiting the resources of Sabah and Sarawak where people in these two areas were left poor and the poorest among the supposed to be new nation Federation of Malaysia(4 countries). Only 5% of revenue remain in Sabah and Sarawak and the rest goes to the peninsular Malaya to support the 11 states of the Federation of Malaya. In other words, Petronas assets are blood money and should be condemned. Malaya is a 'haram', illegally occupying Sabah and Sarawak at the expense of the Sultanate State of Sulu and Bangsamoro.

No to the takeover of Progress by Petronas.

..... Concerned, Sagn's/Schreibn's amal was hat das mit Wien zu tun?
..... Federal Governments of Canada have the right to approve or not approve proposed takeovers of firms, depending on whether or not any such takeover would be for or against the interests of Canada as a whole.

"Concerned, Sagn's / Schreibn amal's what this has to do with Vienna?"

Dealing with a thief(Petronas) is not a good idea for Canada government. To condone the activities of an entity that has something to do with the miserable living conditions of the people
of Sabah is like helping to grow the seeds of evil.

Canada will look at how much money, jobs,or maybe infrastructures Petronas could contribute to the economy but how about the moral obligation of one of the industrialized nations to correct the injustice done to the people of the Sulu Sultanate and Sabah by Petronas and Putrajaya?

Malaya(Putrajaya)deliberately did not change the revenue sharing between Sabah and the national government to make the people in this area poor so that the government could control the State government and people.

It would be nice if Canada won't push the approval of Petronas/Progress deal until Malaya agreed for the return of Sabah to the rightful owner, the Sultanate State of Sulu and the Bangsamoro.

Ottawa approves Nexen, Progress Energy takeovers

- Canada is open for business and foreign investment - but is not for sale - the Harper government declared Friday in approving two major foreign takeovers of Canadian natural resource companies, including one deal with major implications for British Columbia.

The approved deals are CNOOC's $15.1-billion takeover of Calgary-based petroleum producer Nexen and the $6-billion takeover bid by Malaysian national energy company Pet-ronas for Calgary-based natural gas producer Progress Energy Resources.

The approval of the Petro-nas deal improves the economics around the company's proposed $9-billion liquefied natural gas project at Prince Rupert, Progress Energy president Michael Culbert told The Vancouver Sun Friday.

The new Canadian company emerging from the takeover is to be called Progress Energy Canada, he said.

B.C.'s Minister of Energy, Mines and Natural Gas Rich Coleman celebrated the decision Friday, saying it will bring a boost to the Prince Rupert LNG project.

"I think this is a real sea change for British Columbia. I'm very pleased with the decision the federal government made," Coleman said in an interview.

"I think the Prime Minister made absolutely the right decision," he said.

"We're a four million population and we need partnerships when we're into something this large for the future of our province," he said.
