Those who hate Russia and who aren't even aware that there is no Soviet Union and they vilify the new Russia....yet this attention to museums is another indication of how focused on the historic and artistic Russia is...and how dedicated to preserving history...

Slavic people are the strongest race on the planet. Russia dominates weightlifting like no other country in the world. Their weightlifting and athletic medals would fill many museums.

As well as artistically.... their figure skating medals would fill many museums... and that is why the americans and canadians as well as the rest of the world including the chinese grab Russian coaches and skaters in order to addrandize themselves....they could't do it without Russian coaches... figure skaters skating for them and the Russian style and music they use to vie for medals.... as for other fields it would take much to long...

Egotistical chauvenist aren't you...Russia's history is 1000 years long... Communism only lasted 70 years.... but you can keep your narrow-minded mind. personally I want to see all of the history in the museums... even the ones only dedicated to communist years even though there are none...and especially the War museum.....

I will agree with you on one thing. Tsar Alexander I and Alexander II were the greatest after Peter the Great. Rest of the russian Tsars were morons. ;)

You keep repeating that but the lie is not the truth no matter how many times you are going to repeat it. But what am I worrying about. Millions of russians live in poverty so there is no way they can harm me like they tried to harm my grandfather in the Winter War.

Hi - I got into a big argument with small town America. Is he the really bad one? and i told ana she had a pretty dog so we had a cordial exchange, but then she attacked you for only liking russian skaters. so i gave her a long reply about skating - served her right - and mentioned the Ducheneys as my favorites, and then 6 or 7 Russian ice dance pairs (not by names - you know who I mean, and the Protopopovs) and Gordeyeva, and the two great Russian men - one I called the butterfly who flies in the air - the blone with the long hair, and the nearly perfect one who the brilliant foodwork. I can visualize their skating more easily than spell their names! I liked the dueling straight-line steps of the man more than the flights of the boy. Small town america confessed to mocking you, but not much else. Just proved himself to be a sterotypical right-wing American idiot. I am upset that I can't get European skating finals and have to wait for worlds. Have you tried icenetwork on internet? they want money to watch their stuff on-line! Ana and STA attacked you of course, and knew I was your friend, and were looking for opportunities to cause trouble. I kept hitting the ball back into their court - to change sports. and there was a wonderful American woman from Arkansas on with me, so it was worth it to get acquainted with her. I haven't been on the Russia forum for so long - thought I'd come looking for reaction to the olive brqanch from Putin stories. I don't think Obama wants to commit to any particular policy toward Russia yet -(certainly not to Bush's policy)- except for non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and materials, and a general quest for more normal and friendly relations. I suspect he will listen to Hagel and Lugar about Russia, and Sam Nunn. Hope you are OK!

Stalin was Georgian, and helped to get Georgia enlarged with S. Ossetia and Abkhazia, I think. should the US support Stalin's annexation of those territories by supporting Georgian hegemony over provinces that don't want to be part of Georgia?

I can understand a resentment because of the long ago past. But you would not have wanted to be under Hitler's Germany.and we have to face the future. If you think there are resentments in northern Europe, take a look at the discussions on Balkan topicx!

I am fine...thank you...

It is impossible to know what the new president Obama will accomplish...hopefully he will be intelligent enough to reject the Russophobic Brzinski and listen to more moderate advisors and derail a possibl new arms race instead of forcing one as GW BUSH did...We will have to see...

CONTINUED;

AFter the teachery of the west after WWII and the recent treachery of the Boris Yeltsin years and even more racist vilification of Russia who is tryingt o pursue their democracy in their own time and at their own pace...the Russians rightfully will be careful in their dealings with the west...but hopefully there will be honesty...and a withdrawl of the american aggression under GW Bush...

AS for the figure skating... I have not seen anyting on TV except the American championships...and as I am not thrilled at watching American skaters or skaters from Russia skating for america...grinning with their Russian coaches so they can be american heros...

They finally got to get the Russian coaches to help them win and the Russian coaches permeate the entire skating world in North America including Canada.... they did nothing but put down Russian skaters and their coaches for decades and now they grin from ear to ear as they fall all over themselves to find Russian coaches...in order to win...

I understand Canada televises everthing as thanks to their Russian coaches they are finally winning...but Russia, who has to start rebuilding their figure sktating program from the very beginnig with 95 percent of the Russian coaches in North America ....might have a few surprises... especially in pairs and the ever beautiful ice dance... I would rather have the ice-dancers and their coaches in Russia than the specatular domination of the Russian men in boxing.

Hopefully they will show the world Figure skating championships... but if they don't it won't be a big loss...they will have to show it at the olympics...

In any case I will probably tape it and only watch a few skaters... I am not interested in American and Canadian wannbe like Russian skaters...

This is the way I feel and that is that...

As for the name-callers and those making vicioius personal attacks...they have no merit and have to resort to the tactics used by INTERNET TROLLS AND STALKERS...whose only reason for being on this Russia forum is to derail the conversation on Russian subjects....as if there are not enough AMErican or other forums for the Russophobes to post on with those of like minds...

After thousands of name-calling and viciouis personal attacks...they are just a lot of noice...WHITE NOISE....

You do not have to tell him... the Fin-nazi is also the biggest Hitler supporter... on the Serbian, Croatian, Albanian... forums as well.
