Russia doesn;t need a pretender to the throne. They need to find a Real Romanov. But I don't think that a constitutional monarchy is a good thing. Just another oligarch to get a lot of money for nothing,

It all depends how your constitutional monarchy works in practice.
Last I heard we did not have a president in this country.

Yes, Russia needs a monarch as the head of state to temper the head of government.

So is this Saakashvili "cult of personality" thing going to replace Stalin in the hearts of all Georgians? I have this feeling Stalin will always be #1 with Hospitaller and his ilk.(-:

Maintaining existing monarchies is OK, but restoring fallen ones is fraught with problem.

Spain must be the exception.

One thing I like about Stalin and Tito was their revenge killings of Cetniks and Serb nationalists, that was the best part.

In Spain the civil war was the cost of restoring the Monarchy. Monarchists done well, won the war over Godless republicans.

You got that wrong. Monarchy was democratically abolished in Spain in 1932.
Nationalist rebels started the civil war against the democratically elected republican government, and instituted 40 years of dictatorship.
The royalist pretendent refused to take the crown under Franco. His son, Juan Carlos, accepted to be king later after the death of Franco, only at the condition of Spain having parliamentary democracy..

The new Republican government collapsed after 2 years from 1932, leading to the rightists returning in the government very soon. Godless republicans provoked and lost the war, that's what they deserve.

You have that completely wrong.

After the dictature of Primo de Rivera under the king (1923-32), Spain voted for a constitutional republic and abolished the monarchy.

In 1936, an army rebellion by right-wing officers, was supported by the Carlists (monarchists), the Phalangists (Spanish fascists) and Germany plus Italy; it resulted in civil war where none of the Western democracies came to help the republican side. Only Stalin sent some help.

Isolated and unable to contain the nationalists who received massive outside help (aviation, supplies, fuel, tanks, etc...) the republican army collapsed and Franco took power for the next 40 years.

You show your support for dictators against democracy?

Western powers did well not supporting Godless republicans, in oppossite, some countries even helped Franco with planes and money, well done.
I am in full support of Franco, Spanish republican government was NO democracy, they have arrested a plenty of people without any trial, just because they were politically right wing orientated people, also some other nationalists were executed without a just trial, some Churches have being attacked and some demonstrants shot as well, so it had nothing to do with democracy.
It was a Noble Franco conservative traditionalist right wing movement against godless socialist criminals, so I am happy about Franco victory,in fact I do celebrate 1 of April as great victory!
