This appears to be an end run by the corrupt developers in the United Russia nomenklatura.

You see Moscow has appointed party hacks as their government so they can bulldoze everything around Moscow without paying attention to environmental concerns. Or any other concerns save their own greed.

Dictator Putin (Mugabe) can do whatever it wants. Being a dictator has its advantages.

Putin isn't quite as bad as Mugabe. But Russia is moving in the Zimbabwe direction, with all of that entails such as

1) Capital and intellectual flows in one direction - out
2) Concentration of the economy in the hands of the government and its cronys
3) Violence and repression of political opponents, minorities, journalists, and Gay people.
4) Abysmal relations with the world community.

Moscow is a drop in the ocean compared to the rest of Russia which is mostly unpopulated land, virgin forests and unspoiled landscape.

Taking issues with Moscow's expansion is just plainly stupid. Most large towns in the world have encroached on the countryside nearby to contain the population explosion; Moscow is no different than New York, London, Berlin or any capital.

Moscow is very different than NYC, London or Berlin. It is corrupt and has no rule of law.

Moscow is more like Caracas, Lagos or Harare.

I ask you the same question again - why do ypu care? There are a lot of countries much worse than Russia, including those where gays are treated as criminals. Why don`t you turn your atention to those and disapear from Russian forums.

Well, I suppose those Russians who live outside Moscow by choice, will now become forced to be living on the streets, or in shoddy constructed one room flats. What becomes of them? Jobs? Transportation? poorer standard of living? Oh Well, such is living in a corrupted dictaorship without human rights.

Just because Russia is slightly better than Iran doesn't give Russia an 'out' for criticism.

Gays are treated as criminals in Russia if they dare think that they have equal citizenship rights in Russia.

I will shut up when Gay Russians can effectively speak for themselves.

Well, if you care so much about Russian gays and want to speak on their behalf you may start from learning Russian.

Actually I don't. Russians in Russia don't matter to Russia's corrupt sham democracy. Its only the rich nomenklatura that travel to the West that have Putin's ear.

We simply have to make those wealthy Russians feel the disgust of the West and they'll force Putin to make changes.

The nomenklatura craves Western acceptance. We intend to throw their barbaric treatment of our people in their faces whenever they pretend that they are respected in Cannes, Paris, London, NYC, etc.

Ha ha, those corruptive officials keep their money in western banks and your elite will never do what you say. Your bankery is a very pathetic state now as well as finacial systems of western countries, so you simply can`t aford yourselves such things to do. So called free world has no money, no industry and lives only because we by some nonesence still accept dollars and keep our money in your banks. So you`r on payroll of corruptive officials of any kind.
