I was hoping it would be me. I would love the role of mascot. I know I would represent the real Russia. I am the perfect image for all russians.

Russia can't vote for itself.

The decision was made by the International Olympic Committee.

Is that under Russian control too?

Bribery and vote-rigging in Sochi 2014 and Russia 2018 are suspected inside the Olympic and Fifa committees.

When billions of dollars and high stake political benefits are involved, corruption is always near. Funny, Russia started out a couple of years ago with not a high chance of getting the games. Then it suddenly shot forward to first place, surprising many countries, including the USA.

You should address your critics towards the IOC and FIFA, not Russia!

After all, both the IOC and FIFA are composed of members on many non-Russian countries, including the USA, Britain etc... They are the ones who take the bribes!

They should put their house in order before blaming Russia.

The biggest attempt to corrupt FIFA in organising the 2018 World Cup in their country was probably the British application: they had bribed so many delegates that they were almost sure to win it!! The bribe had cost our Football Association millions!!

No, I have other plans.

Sochi is also going to hold the first Russian Formula One GP in 2014, and I would prefer to see that. By then it may be easier to visit Abkhazia next door too...

It's funny that you only accuse Russia for offering bribes, when ALL the other candidates did the same!!

You don't say a word about that; why not?

You also don't say a word about international committees that are formed of national of many countries who also take bribes; why not?

You are just bias in this argument and only accuse Russia.

I guess that if a different country had won the Winter Olympics and another one the Football World Cup, everything would have been alright, eh?

But for you, only Russia is to blame!

You morals are all screwed up, mister!

Geez! Even after the games,(if no terrorist blows it up), those bad guys will also be examining other potential targets involving tourists. Make sure you stand out as a tourist. I personally suggest a RED Shirt and overcoat with the russian flag on the back, White hat, and Red pants,(or dress, if you prefer).
