Palin on Ukraine: I told you so

Posted by CNN Political Unit
(CNN)

In 2008, when she was the GOP vice presidential nominee, Palin questioned in a speech whether then-Sen. Barack Obama would have the foreign policy credentials to handle a scenario in which Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine.

"After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next," she said in Reno, Nevada on October 21, 2008.

Yes, action! That's what we true red-blooded American neocons believe in. We could start bombing Sweden, for example, just like Bush sprang into action against Afghanistan. After all, for all we know there could be some people there who are attracted to Putin's erect nipples. Damned Swedish preverts!

Hey, it's just a "for instance," so let's not waste time trying to "overthink" it or wimp out spinning our big-wheels exercising diplomacy. We extremist right wing fringe christians know it only gets in the way of war, god's favorite strategy for resolving disputes. We want action! Act now, think later, but only if all else fails.

We send our troops just for protection of our citizens in Ukraine.
I hope Obama is not so stupid to attack Russia, because it will be the biggest military conflict in history.

There are many energy pipelines that traverse through the Ukraine from Russia to Western Europe and other points. Russia depends on this as part of their economy. Since this region was/is part of their sphere of influence at one time, does this mean we have the right to interfere? Putin was and may still be a communist, that I do not know. But he has an eastern traditional catholic church affiliation now, at least in public. That I do understand. If true, I trust him more than most American politicians. Not that it makes a difference in a corrupted western world turned secular that is itching for war anywhere it can find it to hide its massive problems. May we have the wisdom to attain peace or at least avoid the final confrontation.

Does anyone seriously think Russia is going to allow the isolation and compromise of one of its major naval bases? Russia has had that base on the Black Sea forever and has had long-standing access through Crimea to that base. Moves by the Obama/Marxist EU Axis to compromise Ukrainian stability so they can enslave another people with EU prices and banking interests will never be allowed. Police murdering neo-Nazi, Jew hating thugs in Ukraine are not the legitimate government.

Russia has a bit over 20 years of a much more open system. They have eddies more wide then us in both directions of economy that includes corruption. We have a massive population that is involved in corruption as we are owed one way or the other.

There is no doubt that the west would like to see Ukraine fall apart so they can bring western Ukraine and Lviv into the EU and HATO. Is that not why they cheered on the toppling of a democratically elected government with elections coming up in the not too distant future by mobs in the street? A desire for more lebensraum to the east? A hatred of democratic nationalism in Europe?

Sad how Germany was allowed to conquer Europe without a single shot being fired. Hitler and the Kaiser's dream fulfilled. They may have lost WW I and WW II but the Anglo Saxons handed them victory in WW III.

We don't know the half of it, there is some serious factionalism going on within the country. Squabbling and a drive for power between ethnic and religious groups as well as the handful os super-rich oligarchs is boiling to the surface. For the working class, the previous policy influenced by Moscow had no less disastrous consequences. The wealth of the oligarchs rests on the systematic destruction of all the social gains since the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the reintroduction of capitalism. The claim by right-wing loons, with room-temp IQs, blaming Obama is preposterous at best!

All large bureaucracies are rife with corruption. Washington is hopelessly corrupt. So is Brussels. So is Moskva. Any wise smaller country avoids domination by all three.

Yanukovych was quite correct to keep the EU at arms length.
