I'm not even watching the Olympics but why would this surprise anyone? They drunk the "gay equals pedophile" pablum, even though there's no scientific proof to back up that assertion, and now they are using that as an excuse to wage war on LGBT people.

In other words, they took a lesson from the radical right and the GOP in the USA and applied it to their (not really democratic) country. If John Boehner or Michelle Bachman had the power Putin has they would do exactly the same thing here in the US.

That is what people like that do - they forcibly oppress other people with whom they disagree.

You want to go to Russia and pull this gay crap? Expect to suffer the consequences.
HAHA! Sort of like the respect you have for the marriage of gay couples on a federal level and in a growing number of states for example. STFU you bigoted, hypocrecy filled piece of crap...you're such a liar

I love stories like this one. It invites every ignorant, clueless ass in America (and yes, we have our share of them) to voice their redneck, fundamentalist, undereducated opinions which the modern world and human rights could well do without. I would suggest all of your that agree with the Russian way of life to join your compadres in Russia and have a happy life together. It would do you good. You could then experience ALL the episodes of a "no-human rights" society. Since you enjoy so many of the freedom of the USA, I'm sure you will have a chance to experience the Russian jails and prisons because there is certainly some behavior you enjoy that is also illegal in the Grand State. Enjoy your life where ever you choose to remain.

At least in Russia, you are not forced to bake a cake for a queer. So they seem to retain rights which we here are losing.

Silly goose
.
At $600.00 a pop for a basic wedding cake; more for extras; you would be baking your happy @ss off no matter WHO your customers are
.
Before you get started; wanna see what a $2,000 rainbow wedding cake looks like?

Activists? No instigators.

Americans need to learn when in another Country, you play by its rules.

They defied what they already knew: Russia's stance on homosexuality. Why insight and defy? And where did their silly statement of protest get them? What did they expect?
To change Russian ideology? LOL! Foolish.

They deserved to get arrested.

They knew they would get arrested. It is what activists do. Change will come, and soon you little bigots will have fewer and fewer things to sit in front of your computers and cyber cheer about.

Russia is what Russia is. Activists aren't going to change Russia. 4 pip squawks are going to change Centuries of Russian Culture? You're dreamin'.

I'm not a bigot. But, I think those protestors were rude and disrespectful to Russia's culture.

So, let them sit in jail and claim that made an ass of themselves while achieving nothing.

How hubris of Gay Americans to behave so ill mannered IN another Country AT The Olympics that is already fraught with political challenges and difficulties.

They "drunk" - Grammatical Correction: they drank.
That pablum propaganda line is old, ineffective.
Russia's stance on homosexuals/homosexuality has nothing to do with any pedophile pablum, Scientific proof, or excuse to wage war on LGBT.

Get over yourself. It's not all about you. Or The LGBT. It's Russia's cultural choice and prerogative. Their Right to THEIR societal and political policies.

Who are you, gay instigators, The LGBT or any other midget minded nimp to tell Russia how to Govern their Nation?

They are not killing homosexuals as the Islamic Sharia Law Nations do ...
They just don't want homosexual propaganda flaming around their Country.

Why don't you rally a group of anti-abuse against Islamic Womens' Rights and Islamic homosexuals and protest for their Human Rights in Iran, Saudi Arabia, for starters.

Asinine Futile Fool ... And talk about forcing other peoples' principles onto others ...
You certainly would like to. You're "trying". Tell that to the 4 Stooges sitting in jail.

Hmmm .... 4 Rings, 4 Stooges sittin' in a cell ... Think that "poster" who stated the 5th Ring not opening was actually symbolic after all, snowflake? LOL!!!

BINGOOOO, the antigay just loooove to praise Russia's senselessly antigay silliness ... yet they remain here.

For some weird reason, they looooove the way Russia handles this issue ... but they don't want to live there.

It shows just how prejudiced the viewpoint is; their "agreement" is not at all about some "value" the Russians hold, but about the prejudice specifically and solely.

Russia used to be an atheist state. That's where the human limitations came from. If you gay atheists want your "freedom" then go to North Korea and then come back complaining about how westerners simply speak against your behavior. The real oppression starts in North Korea not with the freedom of speech of an individual to disagree with the gay agenda.

Well that wasn't stereotyping at all.

Unfortunately for you a gay person already won a medal.
