What Drives Russia's Unrelenting Position on Syria?
A growing consensus of leaders around the world believe the fall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is inevitable, yet Russia continues to support the Assad regime and reject international calls to curb its actions.

There is no one who really supports Assad in Syria. What people object to is outside interference in Syrian politics. The west should not be in the business of toppling governments. The world does not need such policemen AKA bullies.
In the Moslem world that sort of thing only breeds instability... and terrorists.
Look at what the west's interference in Afghanistan has caused. Brzezinski, Carter and Reagan backed the Islamic mujahedeen there and what we got out of it was Taliban rule, sharia law and 9/11.

"and reject international calls to curb its actions."
This is tragically funny.
It was Russia that supported Annan and America that cut him off at the knees. Sad but true.
It was probably this CAP organization that gave the order to 'cap' him.(shoot him in the kneecap IRA style)

Sorry, I meant 'drill him in the kneecap'. I'm not very practiced in these terror techniques.
