russia may demand answers but first they have to answer some questions as to the contents seized and why they were put on a civilian aircraft in the first place.

LOL..Russia doesn't have to smuggle weapons into Syria , unlike the terrorists through Turkey, it could simply use other means of transport..

Precisely what are the suspect contents that justified the search ?
At this point Turkey should be able to provide evidence.
Where is it ? Are they waiting for the green light from Incirlik ?

They are not waiting for anything, they have done what they had intended.

This may be true, but Turkey still has every right to question aircraft flying through its airspace and cargo not reported is suspect.

As far as the US government, Turkey has a right to pick and choose who they allow to do whatever they let them and it is not up to Syria or Russia to approve.

I assure you Russia is very stict about who flies through their airspace and is very concerned about what is transported through their airspace.

Canada made severe issue with the US when it was discovered that the US flew a particular weapon over Canadian soil and it took a few years for the US to get open clearance to fly without permission.

As to what was in the freight,it was obviously something that Turkey deamed military and if after investigation is ok with it probably will allow a craft to pick it up again but not until they are secure with it.

Every country in the world protects their airspace so I am not sure why this is such a surprise to people. Try flying over Iran, heck ask those teenagers that tried to walk inside Iran border what happened, and they had absolutely nothing to be fearful of.

And so the US should and does inspect aircraft flying in their airspace, why are you surprised?

Exactly. Why do I hear no questions about arms shipments to the rebels?

Well possibly because most people agree this practise is ok to allow an even playing field and secondly the practise has slowed down with the Rebels confiscating Assads weapons by taking over so many military installations. I am not sure about the 40 tank take over but if so I would think the tank officers just turned and joined the Rebels for reasons of their own.

Many defectors have come with stock piles of weapons and ammunition or coordinates of where to get the weapons. You must remember a very large percentage of the Rebels are officers and soldiers from the SAA, so information they offer is vital.
