This was great news.

Russia is actually pushing Ukraine into NATO.

Sure it would be nice for Russia to have a huge buffer zone between themselves and NATO, but I don't think Ukrainians want to be that buffer.

Too many years of being the buffer, going all the way back to the Mongol hoards and ending in the cold war. This being the buffer has actually retarded the development of Ukrainian culture and language which today should have outstripped and outgrown all others in Eastern Europe.

The whole issue of NATO is the based on the premise that for Ukraine to be able to truly grow the way it wants, it needs complete security from any possible subversion and intimidation.

Same mentality as has been demonstrated by the PoR. "If you don't let us win the game, we will take our marbles and go home. We'll take yours too if we can get them"

This is an aftermath effect of the overlording Russian Bolshevik culture of intimidation, predation, gangsterism, and and bullying.
