For Russia, Global Warming Benefits 'Outweigh' Negatives

There are 8 comments on the The Moscow Times story from Dec 1, 2010, titled For Russia, Global Warming Benefits 'Outweigh' Negatives. In it, The Moscow Times reports that:

Even permafrost will retreat thanks to global warming, but not this week. Global warming in the next 40 years will allow Russian authorities to save on central heating, increase agricultural production and extend sea navigation in the north, a leading Russian climatologist told a Russian-German conference Wednesday.

As you can see... on global warming... some people can see the big picture.

A warmer climate, more open seas and a longer growing season able to support a greater variety of crops...

The New york Times printed all the Wiki leaks, in public interest. They refused to print the Britishclimate change Email leaks (where scientistist were told to lie about climate change) because they said it was "private". Global warming is an agenda to raise taxes (Obama Cap and Trade law), thank god the republicans won back most of the government and may put a hault to that source of welfare funding.

You do not quite grasp the reality of the Baltics.
Of all the Baltic Sea cities, St. Petersburg is most prone to rising sea levels. Yes, the problem would be solved - by sinking St. Petersburg.

At least 1/3 of Tallinn will stay above water even after 30m of sealevel rise (actually, make that 40m for Tallinn). The same would sink 90% of St. Petersburg.

40m of sealevel rise would turn mainland Estonia into an archipelago, but it would also erase land border with Russia.

Well, that "leading" Russian climatologist kind of speaks against the experience of summer 2010. By the end of this century, summer 2010 will be just an average summer, with the exception that the burning of peatbogs will not stop even during winter (that occasionally happens with peatbogs, even in Estonia), so annual massive peatbog fires will be a certainty.

Keep on lying Jack, it suits you.
There was nothing in those mails about "were told to lie about climate change".

Unfortunately your republicans are science deniers, just like yourself. Nature and physics do not change just because republicans decide to deny the science.

The Obama administration wants to tax coal burning power plants excessively to force them to reduce carbon emmissions. The catch is that the tax money used goes into the general fund, not into "green" research. That means hard working people trying to pay to heat their homes will have to cough up more money so Obama can take their money and redistribute it.
Your side is making a scientific claim, and wants to take my money and give it to people you think deserve it more than me. Fortunately, we saw through this (helped by one of the coldest winters in history), and voted all you worthless, the sky is falling, the government is your mommy and daddy, oops i forgot to educate myself, can't find a job because i'm too stupid, loser liberal democrats, out of office and replaced them with strong, confident, well grounded, responsible, conservative republicans. Have a nice day, and don't catch a cold from all that snow.

The idea is to shut those down completely.

Well, that's not what I have read of - of Tea Partiers and GoBPers blocking and slashing green research funds. You got those quotes right concerning carbon sequestration "research".

Budget deficit is a weak spot for both democrats and republicans.

Gee, should I wish you burn in hell?
Or perhaps you could read the Bible and stop killing the Earth?
