Since you live in IL you may not know it but out in California and along the west coast is it fire season here. There are already fires being fought in California now. We can't spare the people or equipment at this time. Besides they have not asked nor do I think they want our help.

It might not be a bad idea to use some of the Bear bombers and instead of carrying bombs load them with firefighting chemical blisters instead. They can be put to good use this way. They also have the giant Antov (sp?) cargo planes that can be used in the same way.

Russians do not need any US help.
Certainly, it might be a fight and a half with those fires, but knowing Russians, they will manage one way or the other.

Good Job Italy. And five former Soviet Republics. Humanitarianism and decency is far more important than the hate spewed by the biaed hate-filled Russophobes here on topix and and who yammer constantly but actually contribute nothing.

Neighbors should help each other and it is good to know that there are people who are decent instead of just biaseed, haters.

Exactly! And besides, remember "Katrina with many people trapped on and in their houses, when the Russians offered to help resvcue them with their helicopters and the USA was too good to accept it?. Russia should return the favor.

Well said, Russians won´t accept any help, it has to do with pride, no matter how bad those fires are. Those are, the stupid politicians for you.
Perhaps, less wheat to harvest, but Putinko will increase the prices per tonne, case closed.

Spewing stupid crap again I see. They had more than enough choppers to get the people out and did. Never would have happened if the stupid mayor of New Orleans would have made available the buses to move the people out of the city when he was told. Would not of happened had the stupid Governor of Louisiana had accepted help from the Federal Government had ask to come in to help. Or did you not know that the aid can't come in until requested by the State officials? Would not have taken as long had the stupid people had not gotten the bright idea to take shots at the people trying to rescue them. Didn't have this problem at all when Ike came through Houston/Galveston. Why don't you just ONE time tell the whole story instead of spewing your own hate filled propaganda? Oh BTW, one other big difference. A forest-fire is much more unpredictable and harder to control than the aftermath of a hurricane.
