Russia's annual attempt to rewrite history. The Legion was formed in 1943, roughly 17 months after the 2 events described in this press release. Although some did volunteer, most legionnaires were illegaly conscripted into the 2 front-line divisions. What the Soviets thought of these men is irrelevant, the Western Allies fully exonerated them soon after the War. The Latvian legionnaires were used to plug holes in the line, and their efforts did allow tens of thousands of Latvian civilians the chance to flee the approaching Red Army. For this they will always be Latvia's heroes.

Its their arrogance. No limit to it. Nobody else is entitled to be proud of their soldiers but the russians. LOL

Latvia is a nazi state. If they continue oppressing Russians, they will get humanitarian intervention from Putin to put a stop on Latvian Nazism.

Intervention? None of the russian leaders including the opposition has not even seen a military training ground yet alone a gun. Remind me of the jewish geeks like Amicuska who took over Russia in 1917 with their funny caps on. Smarter than Ape they were though.

Russia today has the most active neo-Nazi organization members in the world. In contrast, Latvia is a real democracy and a member of the EU and NATO. Russians in any Latvian city today can live their lives speaking only Russian. Citizenship requirements are equal to that of EU norms.

Latvia has nazis in ruling elite, and they have SS marches every year. They also have SS calendar. They are also part of Nazi American Terrorist Organization (NATO). They are also part of 4th German Reich, which some call EU.

True nazis. Go Putin, force democracy upon Latvia.
