Bush Wins Polish Nod for Missile Defense

“The Russian federation can feel totally safe”

President Bush pressed his plan for a proposed European anti-missile defense on Friday with the president of Poland and won his strong support for installing interceptors on Polish soil.

Earlier, an upset stomach forced Bush to skip some meetings at a summit of major industrial democracies in Germany.

Both Bush and President Lech Kaczynski said the missile-defense system would not threaten Russia in any way. The system has been an issue of contention between Bush and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Read more

Everyone gets what they deserve…
The Polish will get the American nuclear arsenals. The “gift” from Uncle Sam will last on their land to the end of their existence

Nasty Dwarf, and according to you that's a Bad thing is it? Increasing security of a Nation constantly harassed from the barbaric East, seems to be of no concern for you, Why should it, right !!!! Since you're already sitting on a nuclear arsenal in Britain and feel safe.

The “gift” from Uncle Sam will last on their land to the end of their existence. What a insulting statement to make. And yet I remember not long ago, Britain wanted this particular shield from the US too. You are no different mate.

The East is not “barbaric”. It is an anti-Russian phobia which contaminates Polish consciousness and makes it very tired. Think of reconciliation - it refreshes the mind!
The Polish-American deal is not about the security of the Polish nation. It is about American anti-Russian strategy. There is no need for Poland to “pin the wedge” of the American imperialistic interest between Western and Eastern Europe. Poland’s present location within the EU, of which membership Poland begged the West, is different than ever before, and is the best guarantor of Poland‘s peaceful existence within her German and Russian partners. If anyone is to profit from the deal it will certainly not be the Polish or the EU; it will certainly be the USA.

Yet again I have to confess before the Holy Tribunal that my statement is not insulting, at all. I tried to stress that the foreign power was hardly removable. Forcible occupation is bad enough; one suffers, fights and rushes out the occupant, eventually. Contrary to that, the INVITED occupant is the worse one. Once the “guest” becomes the intruder, he begins to bully and jeopardise the host, and is hardly possible to remove such a guest (how, one day, will Poland be able to manage to show the door and say:“Yanks, go home”?). The Yank will start with the interceptors and, later on, will introduce in secret, through the back door, the offensives. The “friendly” occupation will last long enough, and, meanwhile the indigenous population may vanish, gradually, somehow. The decent, and even the indecent, folk shall emigrate, the elderly and vulnerable die and the remnants dilute in the flood of external migrants, i.e. Romanian nomads, German re-settlers, and only Slavic ancient gods know who else. That was an innocent suggestion, or speculation, if you wish, outside of any conceit of catastrophic visions. For the time being, like the British, the Polish will feel the hard hand of the Yank on their purse. One cannot get rid of that iron-clad finance-sucking monster and it lasts forever; the Yank will not provide you with anything for next to nothing.
The Kaczynski Bros will secure their seats in the history of the world and the Poles will never regain their independence. I wonder whether G.W. Bush has ever offered the Polish, e.g. the American citizenship, or “green cards“ for all the Polish citizens. What a gesture! Wouldn’t it be nice? Something for something; there shouldn’t be something for nothing, should there?
Again, there is no insult found in all my texts. Instead, there is a lot of bitter common truth, and the best friend for you is he who always tells you the most painful truth. Take it by heart, Aureliusz.

PS. Could we have a normal, constructive discussion which would be free of allegations, suspicions,“provocations”, and similar “cookies”?

anti-russian phobia... again,, why are Poles always considered anti-something?? look at history, it will show you reasons why countries such as Poland took twice at some of its neighboring countries. it should also give some very needed security... and as far as the green card thing.. well i guess the usa has something to work on. that i agree with..

You will know, young man, that people in Britain have been demonstrating, and lobbying for the removal of American weapons from our country for many years!

What is agreed among politicians is NEVER debated with the general public.

Having somebody else weapons in your country increase your chances of becoming a target. At the end, American bases and missiles don't protect us, our country protect THEM.

We don't need antimissile shield. This sick american genocide, morton and alcoholic should go to psychiatrist immedietely. We have only proamerican chieftains and we have no independent government and state. It is very sad that fight for freedom and democracy was destroyed by these small, stupid people.

The "gift" from Uncle Sam will indeed be with them until the end of their existence and this end is insured in the event of a nuclear conflict if they accept this "gift". But what is really important is that Uncle Sam is protected isn't it?
It's like getting AIDS from Uncle Sam:)))

That's "democracy" for you.
The same thing all these missile shields are supposedly "protecting".
