What the hell would Canada do if the issue came to blows? Good old Uncle Sam would have to come to the rescue.

Why not make nice like Norway?

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/...

The race to carve up the Arctic’s increasingly exposed riches got hotter as Norway and Russia divvied up an oil-rich zone off their northern coasts, leaving Canada as the only country with a share of both the remaining unresolved boundary disputes.

Best do it now before USA and RF make a Molotov-Ribbentrop deal. ;-)

"The parallels to the Canada-U.S. dispute [in the Beaufort Sea] are quite close," Prof. Byers said.

Its a good thing Russia is trying to seize what it can in the North Pole area. Its because Russia feels it doesn't have enough land and resources.

Why are you getting mad at people questioning Russia wanting more territory and resources to seize when anyone who looks at a map of Russia can plainly see that Russia already has enough? Do you actually think Russia NEEDS more land and resources??? Tell me.

It's interesting you talk about gobbling.

Russia just loves to gobble gobble gobble......

Don't you think Russia has enough land and resources?

How much is enough for Russia? Can you answer that?

The north pole is estimated to have 1/4th of the worlds oil supply. That is trillions in profits. Civilian use of petroleum products can be reduced drastically with government policies and investments, unfortunately same cant be said for the military. You cant make a jet fighter work on solar energy. So Russia is making an incredibly wise move economically and militarily the real question is why isn't US+Canada doing the same?

Well, yes I can. The post immediately preceding Abe's/yours alludes to Russia peacefully settling its Arctic borders with Norway through mutual negotiation.

But since such affairs don't enter into your/Abe's preconceived notions of a voraciously expansionist RF, the implications just flew ovew yo' po' widdwe head. N'est ce pas?

Unfortunately, your meanderings on current events are akin to the famous Bushman explorer Clickety Clack, who upon viewing the distant horizon declared with unprecedented confidence to his tribe: "Don't dare go beyond the river bank or you'll fall off because the clickety clackety Earth is flat!". ;-)

Who exactly 'already has enough' oil, Abe?

Is there such an animal in the world?

Or are you just retarded?

I mean really, the world ain't Sesame Street.

I may find you at times entertaining and refreshing in your naivite but man, I've got a reputation to keep up. I really can't hang out with such psychological lepers for long without damaging it.

Yes of course, unlike the great United states and its hanger-on Canada who has over 700 military bases world wide, meddles in every country it can get its hands on and is eager to stick its behind into Russian territory. Of course. using double standards the land grabbing world-wide by the USa doesn't count, does it Abe?

The Russians got there first and as the largest country have a legitimate claim to their off shores waters. Too bad . DEal with it ABE.

The NJ multi-headed hydra continuyes to play with doubnle standards.

Is the world enough for the lone western superpower, blessed with lots of agricultural land right in the correct temperate zone? Why the need for for more and more bases and the continued landgrabbing and spreading of colored revolutions throughout the world to cater to the lone western superpower. How much is enough for the wonderful west who continues to bad-mouth Russia even as it is no longer a communist nation.

Stop playing with double standards and get it through your thick skull, that as long as the wonderful west continues to live in the past and play UNFAIRLY WITH DOUBLE STANDARDS THAT ALL IS FAIR IN WAR. aS LONG AS THE WEST CONTINUES TO PUSH RUSSIA INTO A ROLE AS ENEMY, RUSSIA WILL DO WHAT IS NECESSARY TO FIGHT BACK.

Good for Russia.... why should they give up their resources as the country who is the largest in the Arctic region. If the USA had that border they wouldn't give up millionth of an inch. Go Russia.

Because the Russians think of it first and the west follows along. How does the USA get to grab resources which are not off their borders? Apparently the world is not enough for the USA.

The canadians are like the poles, biased, hate-filled and prejudiced Russophobes, who hide behind the skirts of NATO and the USA shooting their big mouths off but having nothing to back it. that's why they whine and yell and expect the USA to fight its battles for them.

Well Russia got there first and Russia is not going to back off, and why should it as it is their off-shore oil.

Ooh some people are just so busy playing with double standards that they are completely and totally off topic.

I've decided to take pity on poor Abe and give him another conspiracy bone to chew on:

All he has to do is write in Russia for China.

This is funny stuff.(Not funny haha, funny kookoo). Tailor made for Abe and his kookoo mentor, STA.

Christine O'Donnell Said China Plotting To Take Over US

(AP) WASHINGTON (AP)- Republican Senate nominee Christine O'Donnell of Delaware said in a 2006 debate that China was plotting to take over America and claimed to have classified information about the country that she couldn't divulge.

When Ting challenged O'Donnell's claim about having secret information, O'Donnell didn't answer specifically but suggested she had received it through nonprofit groups she worked with that frequently sent missionaries there.
