Opinion: Russian meteor exposes a culture of mistrust
IF I HAD to choose a single word to describe the dominant attitude in Russian society, it would be "mistrust." The meteor, or possibly small asteroid, that exploded over the Ural Mountains city of Chelyabinsk on Feb.

In the USA they would have claimed it a weather balloon... or Joisey swamp gas.

I would have called it a Putin attack, then called 911 and reported flying saucers with cyrillic markings hovering over my hut and then I would have called Sarah Palin on our hot line to tell her to stand away from the kitchen window.
