What is the southern baptists view on psychics? I am a saved Christian but am still learning many things & have manyyy questions.... I see passed loved ones in my dreams & they tell me true things or tell me things to tell other various family members. The information I'm given is always correct... What is the southern baptist view... Am I truly seeing these people? Is this a gift from the holy spirit entering me ? Are dead people even with God yet to where they can come as angels, or are we all resurrected at the same time? Please I need lots of input & guidance & answers thank you so much

I really want to be sure I am not doing anything against the Lord & I want to be sure the devil isn't fooling me :/ but I do believe I am truly communicating with these loved ones in my sleep

It doesnt matter if you are doing it when you are asleep or wide awake in the middle of the day. If you are communicating with the dead then you are practicing what the bible calls withcraft.
Withcraft is punishable by spiritual death in hell.
The bible says there is a great impassible gulf that was created by God to seperate the living here on earth from the dead who have passed on and no longer live here on the earth. The bible says it is impossible for those who have passed on to travel across that great gulf of seperation.
This can not be the Holy Spirit causing this to happen to you because the Holy Spirit would not encourage you to do something that the bible forbids you to do. In other words the Holy Spirit is not hypocritical.
There is no scriptures or stories telling us that people who die are transformed into angels so they may come back and visit living relatives.
What you are experiencing often happens to people who have played with ouiji boards and tarot cards as a small child. Also reading daily news papers astrology charts, visited fortune tellers, had their palms read at carnival events. You might not believe this but watching demonic possession movies like the excorcist and ammityville horror can cause problems like you are experiencing. Also smoking pot and synthetic mind altering drugs and reading books on UFO's and extra terrestrial intelligence can trigger what you are experiencing.
If you have participated in any of the above mentioned activities you should pray ask Jesus to forgive you for commiting those acts that you didnt know how dangerous they were at the time you were doing them and he will forgive you.
When the dreams come back to interfere with your chrisitian life it is important that you wake up and simply speak out loud and say "I DEMAND THESE DREAMS TO LEAVE MY PRESENCE IMMEDIATELY IN THE NAME OF MY LORD JESUS CHRIST". And they will leave and if they come back again command them to leave again in the same way you did the first time.

Dear CC; Try the Spirits and reject the bad. You can misinterpret as you are not speaking with nor is the dead speaking to you. The Holy Ghost can give you visions and you can misinterpret them or have trouble defining them. It is not necessarily witchcraft but one must be very careful as it can lead you in the wrong direction. This will require much prayer and always seek scripture as we must conform to God's Word and words. In English the King James is the only correct Bible we have. Jesus is the same today and forever. Myself; I try to be a devout Christian. Prayer and study constitutes my daily activities and generally I try to read and study 5-8 hrs/day, every day. Still; I do not know it all. Gifts are confusing to many and cause problems for many. Follow Jesus; follow the scriptures and all must be confirmed by scripture. Don't deny the power of God, but don't be lead astray either.

But as for psychics; they are a hoax. Jesus gave us the story of Lazarus. There is a lot to it; more than meets the eye. There will be no dead visitations or communicating with them. The Christian has the Holy Ghost dwelling within and an can be given insight from God Almighty - don't confuse 'what you may think you know'. Never jump into anything but wait on God. Pray much. Some have gifts of healing and some discernment of spirits. Caution and care with much prayer is the order of the day for such. Our adversary, the devil is deceitful and cunning. Don't deny what God gives but ensure it is a blessing from God and doesn't lead to pride.
