Southern Baptists do not "dislike" Catholics. That is a ridiculous statement to make. Southern Baptists disagree with certain doctrinal beliefs that Catholics hold but that does not mean we "dislike" them.

You need to be more careful with your accusations.

How are you "non-denominational" yet belong to Catholicism? You are a Catholic. You can't have it both ways. It's fine if you are Catholic but stand up and say "I'm Catholic."

You are right Rick. Baptist do not agree with the phony man made up doctrines that catholics go by. Baptist do not agree with the way catholics worship mary and rosary beads.

Hello fedupwiththemess, maybe you need to do some "actual" research before you post. Since you didn't, I'll enlighten you. The Catholic Bible and the King James Bible are the same with the exception of the seven books of the Apocrypha. King James removed them when we published his own version because HE did not agree with them.

Also for those people out there that says that Catholic Priests are all gay, should study history before you cast stones because many people of King James' time believe that he was homosexual and referred to him as "Queen James".

Here's another thing I don't understand. Why do most fundamental religions feel the need to force their beliefs on others? I judge people by who they are, not by what they believe and ultimately I believe God judges us by how we live our life not by how we choose to worship.

Nope...catholics are always adding to and trying to change the word. The bible is the bible and catholic should NOT be on it.

Because catholics believe in doctrines and traditions and NOT the word from the bible. They make up stuff and constantly change things.

The Bible the Catholics use was around long before the King James. Fedupwiththemess, if you weren't so brainwashed you might be able to open your mind and see that a Christian is a Christian regardless of how they choose to worship. We all believe the same thing

Fedupwiththemess, what makes you think you're an expert on Catholicism? Have you study our Catechism or are you just reciting what a non-Catholic Christian has told you? I'll pray for you that God may open your eyes and allow you to accept others as any good Christian would.

Where did the Bible come from?? I know it is the word of God but who started to put it in print? Who gathered and collected all the scripture , readings ,psalms, episiles & all that Jesus told the disciples etc. It couldn't have been from the Priests ,Jesuits & Bishops of that time about the year 400 could it? Since the Baptist aren't mentioned until after the printing press came, about 1600 and the original KING JAMES was copied to the printing press in 1611. Did it just fly by and the baptist catch it???

The church is lost in the way they coverup the terrible sins of the priests. I never allowed my children to be with priests, if I was out of the picture. It took me many years to leave this organization.I think for a man to become a priest they are usually homo or asexual. No normal man would want to be in this org. That being said, many go into the org. because it is a safe place to abuse. Also it is a safe place to be safe and be taken care of. It took me years to leave. I am so sick of the way they tell women to dress modestly in 100 degree weather, and yet their priest go out an rape. This is so sick

Sure they do. Praying to particular saints and to Mother Mary who the Catholic Church often believes is part of the Godhead like Jesus. There's no good reason to suggest that Mary is part of the Godhead. I suppose the CC thinks that since Jesus is God then His mother must be divine. But under that logic, Mary's mother would have had to been divine too. Mary's grandmother would have to been divine too. Keep following that back and eventually you got back to Adam and Eve who were both under the condemnation of sin. You got to do a lot of theological footwork to try to get around the fact that the Bible never says she is divine (and she is mentioned after Jesus' ascent in Acts 2). Yikes.

How about the time of Martin Luther and his division over indulgences? That's the reasoning for his nailing of his thesis to the church door. People thought buying and praying through indulgences like the "fingernails" of John the Baptist or a "splinter of the cross of Christ" would deliver their loved ones from purgatory. Essentially if you had the right saint to pray through, you could get what you wanted. Seems like idolatry to me. The Catholic Church sold these obvious fakes to raise money.

There you go. The comment might not have been directly at the modern CC but a lot of it could have been.

Where do you think your Bible came from? The Roman Catholic Church assembled the Bible in the early 4th century A.D. By the Council of Hippo.

The process began in 390 A.D. If it was not for the Roman Catholic Church you could not go into Walmart and buy one of the twenty versions of the Bible.

I was a Baptist for 30 years and I know that it is easier to say "Jesus forgive me and continue in your own sin life (curse, look at porn, lay drunk, pleasure yourself, and abort your unborn children via contraception, have affairs..... Whatever the case may be.) The church demands more from us than that, and so does God.

The rosary beads date back to 1215 A.D. There are differing views on the history of the rosary. According to tradition, the rosary was given to Saint Dominic in an apparition by the Blessed Virgin Mary in the year 1214 in the church of Prouille. This Marian apparition received the title of Our Lady of the Rosary.
