The combined networth of all 54 Indian promoters in the list stood at $338.8 billion, of which Gujarati-speaking businessmen contribute $139.1 billion, representing 41.05 per cent of the total net worth of the Indian dollar billionaires.

That is no mean achievement. And, even if one factors in the billions accumulated by Pallonji Mistry, now an Irish citizen, it just goes to show how the global Gujarati knows no boundaries.

There isn't an area where they have not created wealth and jobs — be it petrochemicals, engineering, finance, pharma, consumer products, software or real estate.

I hate generalizations and stereotypes but having lived in Ahmedabad for six years, I can speak from experience - compared to other states of India, per capita you will find more cowards in Gujarat. Now, not all human beings are alike, you will often find a cowardly Sikh/Rajput and a Gujju with guts of steel. I have many Gujju friends and some of them are real brave in nature. However, the dominant culture of Gujarat is about trading and business-making. This leaves little opportunity for a man to become warrior-like and grow a pair of balls. While in most other states, girls are attracted to strong, brave men, I have seen that most Gujju girls prefer their boys (can't call those grown-ups "men") to be limpwristed pussies so that they can dominate them easily. However, Gujarat does have a strong martial tradition because of several Rajput races but the state itself is dominated by a minority community of Bania-Brahmin who are the majority in cities like Ahmedabad. they are the most cowardly people you will ever meet. They can't commit to a decision because they don't like to step out of their comfort zones. Who says these people are risk-takers? They are the most risk-averse people I ever saw. Their best hope is for you to leave them alone. Confront one of these people and they'll be scared, running for their lives.

Again the word "Gujarati" is a neologism. In that state, there are plenty of people of other castes particularly Rajputs, who don't deserve to be in the same category as the cowards of Ahmedabad.

I used to deal with Gujjus all the time in my 10 years of stay during Ahmedabad. Of course you'll find good and bad people in every community but on the whole, these are the most annoying people on Earth. Qualities you won't expect in Gujju men include chivalry, honour, bravery, standing for your mates. I find it pathetic that Gujju women actually find these qualities appealing :( some of them are beautiful but their taste in men is real awful. You'll always see a very hot Gujju girl with a bespectacled, skinny 5'4" faggot Gujju guy who will die if you just scared him a bit. Why? Of course, it's the money. The only purpose of their existence is money that is why they make a lot of it. Granted we all need money but your quality of existence should not be defined by how much money you own. Friendships formed with Gujjus is seldom real and these people have no natural warmth except when they can make a few rupees profit from you, otherwise they lose interest in you real fast. Gujjus are the real "Jews of India". While they can be trusted, it's really bad for you as an outsider if you're totally surrounded by these people. You'll feel as if you don't belong. For all their warmth and candour, you won't get real close to them even when you make efforts to speak their language. I haven't seen a more ethno-centric community in all India. If these Gujjus think they are so clever that they can live off on their own without the help of outsiders as some of my Gujju colleagues like to say, they are free to secede from India and form their own independent nation. But, guess what? That's when reality will strike them. Their next door neighbours are Pakistan who won't hesitate to attack this state of herbivorous, spineless cowards. Without the back-up of martial races of India, especially North Indians and Maharashtrians, it'll be a cakewalk for Gujarat to be conquered by any foreign country.
