The Seventh-day Adventist Church is opposed to the use of medical marijuana as a weapon to fight against cancer but Adventist doctors approve of using AZT. Would any Seventh-day Adventist here care to defend their hypocrisy?

I agree 100% but I believe in stating the situation with greater force because Seventh-day Adventists are sound asleep. Can we put it this way? Seventh-day Adventist physicians and church institutions are so slavishly conformist to power that they wouldn't even dare think to investigate the overwhelming amount of science that supports the use of medical marijuana.

It doesn't "cure" cancer, but it is my understanding that it does greatly reduce the pain and nausea during chemo and radiation treatments (both of which are also poisonous). You have to practically kill the patient in order to have an effect on the cancer. My brother died from brain cancer two years ago. How I wish he could have had medical marijuana to ease his suffering. Most medications are actually poison unless taken in the proper dosages and under the direction and strict scrutiny of a qualified physician.

Dont believe the pot is classified as a pain drug. It is in the class with the LSD a psychotic.

Many of these brain cancers could be from the cell phones. So it's not that we need drugs rather need to stop doing certain things like using cell phones.

Our diet is important too. Too much fat and poor circulation hamper the immune system that fights the cancers. The marijuana also does not support a strong immune system needed to fight the cancers. Marijuana is a body blow to the immune system.

The hospitals have powerful pain meds these days such as oxycotin for short term relief that work really well without all the ill-effects as morphine used to have.

The key is prevention.

Stimulant which alters reality for the one who indulges. We are not to partake of anything of this sort.

"Peter's admonition to abstain from fleshly lusts is a most direct and forcible warning against the use of all such stimulants and narcotics as tea, coffee, tobacco, alcohol, and morphine. These indulgences may well be classed among the lusts that exert a pernicious influence upon moral character. The earlier these hurtful habits are formed, the more firmly will they hold their victim in slavery to lust, and the more certainly will they lower the standard of spirituality.

Bible teaching will make but a feeble impression upon those whose faculties are benumbed by self-gratification. Thousands will sacrifice not only health and life but their hope of heaven before they will wage war against their own perverted appetites. One lady who for many years claimed to be sanctified, made the statement that if she must give up her pipe or heaven she would say, "Farewell, heaven; I cannot overcome my love for my pipe." This idol had been enshrined in the soul, leaving to Jesus a subordinate place. Yet this woman claimed to be wholly the Lord's!" Sanctified Life p.28

Cannabis was my great test of faith. Having battled the most deeply entrenched love of Cannabis after accepting Christ I can say with full confidence that the #1 thing that it does is create a massive chasm between you and the LORD, while at the same time stimulating the carnal self to the point where one has 'the time of his life' in sin. It causes one to experience sin in its purest form and most joyful form, while losing complete focus of eternal things. Few have an idea of how destructive and abominable it really is.

My brother hated new technology trappings and RARELY used a cellphone. And it wasn't just pain that he dealt with, it was extreme nausea, fatigue, tremors, and and the other horrible discomforts from chemo and radiation treatments that he suffered, among other things. Those treatments had destroyed his immune system, anyway. He was active, fit and trim - at age 61 he wore the same size jeans he had worn in the academy (30x30's), and was a 3rd-generation SDA vegetarian. So there goes your "clean living" theory.

During the last few months of his life, they gave him methadone and oxycontin (oxycodone). He died anyway. I think MJ would have been a huge blessing. Had it been your brother/sibling, I wonder how you'd feel about it, having to sit by for six months watching him die by inches in misery. I'd have done just about ANYTHING to make him more comfortable! It was the hardest thing I've ever experienced - don't wish it on ANYONE!!!

Something is controlling them. I can't get over how non-thinking most of the responses to this thread have been. The editorial reviews of the documentary "What If Cannabis Cured Cancer" by Andrew Weil, M.D. and Julie Holland, MD NYU School of Medicine are authoritative.

However, the blissfully ignorant will always be satisfied with their ignorance and charmed by their own self-satisfaction.

I know it is an effective painkiller, like for broken bones and stuff. Probably works for cancer patients too.

Problem with marra is that it is also good for emotional pain, blocking it out.

What is even more amusing is that there are people here, like the Jesuit Shubee, who will multi-log or use a proxy to 'judge' their own post erroneously thinking that a few check-marks and hearts will make them correct and credible.

The Jesuit-led ALF does the same thing as well as a few others.

It is a shame that they don't see how disgusting their conduct is in the eyes of the Creator.

Though I do not smoke MJ I have listened to the arguements on both sides. Quite a few of them actually.

Biblically speaking you may cite: Genesis 1:29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

So....we know at least that God is the one who gave MJ to the world. MJ is a seed bearing plant.

How individuals use or misuse the things the Lord gives us, well I guess that is the real issue.

In the case of your brother GJ, I would find it hard to serve and love and worship a God that would hold it against His loyal servant for trying to ease his suffering. I do not believe that that is our God at all.

I have proof it isn't.

Proverbs 31:6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

On the other end of the debate I know for a fact that MJ is a gateway drug. Especially for the young and weak minded.I have seen it happen to some that are very close to me. Just a little here and just a little there. The next thing you know your loved one or friend is smoking that stuff all day long every day. From there it only goes down hill.

I firmly believe that only the love of God can break the chains of bondage that illegal street drugs and abusers of perscription pain killers suffer once they choose to go down that road.

I believe that MJ sets that ball in motion.

Really sorry to hear about your brother Grammy - if he was anything like you I know he was a wonderful guy. Rest assured you will see him again soon. Our Jesus is not a liar.

The song ends like this Grammy......and the angels echoed around the throne "REJOICE FOR THE LORD BRINGS BACK HIS OWN REJOICE FOR THE LORD BRINGS BACK HIS OWN".

Your brother in Christ, CB

And let us not forget that the healing properties of plants is not unheard of in Scripture.

Revelation 22:2
"In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations."

It is being reported that the benefits of cancer-fighting cannabinoids comes about, not by smoking marijuana, but by taking 1 drop of cannabis oil per day, which is not enough to make you high.

Ephesians 4
10 He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.) 11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

God allows everyone to follow their own carnal mind and to ignore prophets and teachers. Rick Simpson is a teacher that should be listened to. He has an important message.
