The Son of God was next in authority to the great Lawgiver. He knew that His life alone could be sufficient to ransom fallen man.(Ellen White, Spirit of Prophecy, vol. 2, page 9, also in Lift Him Up, page 24)

Satan’s position in heaven had been next to the Son of God. He was first among the angels.(Ellen White, Selected Messages, book 1, page 341)

Please note that Christ was next in authority behind his father. The third highest being was none other than Satan himself.

Satan, the chief of the fallen angels, once had an exalted position in Heaven. He was next in honor to Christ.(Ellen White, Review & Herald, February 24, 1874)

Speaking of Satan, our Lord says that “he abode not in the truth.” He was once the covering cherub, glorious in beauty and holiness. He was next to Christ in exaltation and character. It was with Satan that self-exaltation had its origin. He became jealous of Christ, and falsely accused him, and then laid blame upon the Father. He was envious of the position that was held by Christ and the Father, and he turned from his allegiance to the Commander of heaven and lost his high and holy estate.(Ellen White, Review & Herald, October 22, 1895)

Satan was jealous of the postion of God the father and Christ the son of God alone.

Here's another one...Lucifer is #3

After Christ, who was the most honored of all the heavenly inhabitants?

“Among the inhabitants of heaven, Satan, next to Christ, was at one time most honored of God, and highest in power and glory. Before his fall, Lucifer, "son of the morning," was first of the covering cherubs, holy and undefiled. He stood in the presence of the great Creator, and the ceaseless beams of glory enshrouding the eternal God rested upon him.”{E. G. White, Signs of the Times, July 23, 1902 par. 2}

Actually let's not forget who took Lucifer’s position #3 in heaven being next in honor to Christ, the Son of God after the fall?

“The words of the angel, "I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God," show that he holds a position of high honor in the heavenly courts.[…] Wonderful thought--that the angel who stands next in honor to the Son of God is the one chosen to open the purposes of God to sinful men.”{The Desire of Ages, p. 99}

“It was Gabriel, the angel next in rank to the Son of God, who came with the divine message to Daniel.”{The Desire of Ages, p. 234}

I think these anti-trinitarian quotes are being ignored for some reason. Where's PITB now?:)

#1 The father
#2 The son
#3 Lucifer before the fall who "was envious of the position that was held by Christ and the father"[Ellen White RH Oct 22,1895]

Where is the Holy Spirit here if he is a seperate individual? Seems he wasn't next in rank to the son of God?

This agrees with the bible. I have no problem quoting the bible. The bible supports these quotes 100%. However some are saying Ms. White is a Trinitarian. I think these quotes leave them no choice but to conceed she was not. Any honest person would.

Sadly these people are holding to a few quotes of hers on the godhead, but they don't even know what the godhead is. It's mentioned 3 times in the bible and unfortunately noone will study it with me out of the bible.

This is the reason for this thread. To show who Ms. White believed were the first, second, and third highest beings in heaven.

PITB has been the main advocate of Ms. Whites writings supporting a trinity. However he dissapeared from these quotes. I agree with you, I think we should go to the bible alone. However, I would like him to understand the meaning of "the godhead"[divine nature]means in those quotes he uses. And also acknowledge that Ms. White didn't teach that the Holy spirit was a seperate individual from God and Christ.

The Holy Spirit does not work in ranks of athority. The spirit is there to guide and support, not to make laws. But to guide you in keeping those laws that God had made. To help you throught problems, to give you strenth when needed. So to use this to prove that it is not part, as one, does not hold water.

I see in the Word:
God
The Spirit of God
The Son of God

There are no place in the Bible that supports eithar argument. So to debate on it is no use. Both are based on putting peices together.

God is so complex, why try to analyze Him. It will not bring you more points in heaven. That we see when we get there. Focus on the things that will help you throught life and all its "theories" that satan through at us.

God bless.

Yep. I see God, his spirit, and his son in the word. So that makes God the father. Scripture is clear on this fact.

When you say "God bless" to me. Which God are you talking about?

David:
May the Father bring good things apon your path,
May the Son's judgment be light
May the the Spirit guide you know what is right or wrong and help you to do what is right. And give you the strenght throught bad times.

Leon

PS, this is just a short part of it. But you get what I say?

As long as we're talking about what Ellen White taught, it is self-evident that Lucifer was not higher in power than the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit. Special Testimonies, Series A, No. 10, p. 37 (1897).

Mrs. White point was the Lucifer was first in power among the angels, after the chief of the angels, Jesus Christ.

About Jesus Christ Himself, Ellen White said that He was "God in the fullest sense, " and that He was God from all eternity, equal with the Father.

All of this is fully supported by the Bible, which calls Christ "our great God," and also calls the Holy Spirit "God."

How do you know Lucifer wasn't ranked higher then the third person of the godhead? Third person might not mean third rank. Perhaps the third person is CHrist in the person of his saints. And perhaps godhead means divine nature and not God. Hmmmm.

So maybe she's right on when she says "Lucifer is next in rank to the son of God" and you just don't understand what she meant by "third person of the godhead"

THOR is the third highest in heaven, and Thor was MAN.

And even in Christian Theology the devil was not found to have a place, in fact, the devil CEASED to be, forever.

That you are promoting the devil/Satan/Lucifer as some sort of third in heaven is SATANIC.

The one and only place that uses the term Lucifer is interesting:

KJV:Is. 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

NIV:Is. 14:12 How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!

Amp:Is. 14:12 How have you fallen from heaven, O alight-bringer and daystar, son of the morning! How you have been cut down to the ground, you who weakened and laid low the nations [O blasphemous, satanic king of Babylon!]

Yeah, and it is pretty obvious that this is talking about a a MAN.

Isa 14:11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

See, that is what happen to PEOPLE when THEY DIE.

Isa 14:11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

That is WHAT Happens when you get Buried in fertile soil. THE WORMS come UP from below, and come DOWN from above, and devourer you.

For this to happen, you have to BE A BODY, BURIED.

How anyone ever came to understand this as some sort of statement that reveals the nature of some sort of eternal Angel of Light, must have to deal with mans fear of death.

Man is so afraid of Death, Man created a Devil.
