Those who have children in any Adventist school,
pull them the out. Save them from the mental derrangement. They might not come out of the cult as easily as you, and you will have a nut case on your hands.

Place them in a good Christian school system that
teaches the Love of Christ. They will be taught
to read the Bible and follow scripture only. They will not be taught to follow or idolize a prophet.

God be with you

Hi Paul,

I went to a Seventh Day Adventist high school and the religion side was no problem what so ever.

We were not taught to follow or idolize E G White and if memory serves me correctly I cannot remember even hearing or learning much of her. But I do remember first thing up before breakfast having morning worship which had nothing to do with E G White ( oh yes I went to a SDA Boarding school) and before starting classes had Bible study/reading for maybe 20 minutes...we also at the end of the day had worship before the evening meal or was that after hmmm cannot quite remember but I do not remember Ellen G White but I do remember the Bible was used and then on Friday evening we had the opening of Sabbath followed by vespers and then on Sabbath and then on closing Sabbath... I Paul remember the Bible been used and I remember a few very powerful people(teachers/carers) back then who loved the Lord and left a great impression on my young mind that those impressions are still with me to this day and have been a great help and there was no E G White but Bible only.

Maybe Ellen G White was used and if she was it could not have been much or that strongly for I do not remember and it surely did not leave an impression on my mind.

So you see Paul you are like a bull at the gate again with assumptions.

You really do have a hatred going haven't you ... I am starting to think you are the one deranged.

Cinders, were you ever instructed to read any
Ellen White books as Pow and others have been
asking me to read. Many here have attested to the
fact they were instructed to use Ellen White materials, some were asked to leave the church, some asked to stop teaching their sabbath school,
for not teaching with Ellens materials.Ex SDA
Ministers testified they were instructed and taught with Ellen White Materials.

I guess, all these people and ex SDA ministers
are liars......are you the only source of truth?

Whatever Cinders
Paul you are truly clueless ... with you I have hit the ignore button...your postings are not one bit uplifting or Christ centered... so there is no more reading of your postings.

Have a great life been obsessed with the SDA Church when instead you should be obsessed with Jesus Christ.

Keep Smiling Paul,

why an interest in the SDA school system all of a sudden Paul. There was a very alive child abuse thread that ran for 12 months and you never once supported one victim there. So why attack the WHOLE school system now?

Nothing wrong with that. Although I must also say (having been through the seminary) that there was very little teaching about EGW in the seminary--mostly the Bible was taught.

Excellant, Cinders!

It appears that Paul is obsessed with the SDA church because he made a bad choice and rather than admit it to God and man he has decided to attack the church.

I find this thread very interesting. I too went to a SDA high school. That was one of the most positive experiences of my life. Ellen G.White was mentioned but mostly in a historical sense. Not as someone to be followed or idolized. I also have grown up in an adventist home. My parents very active in the church. I havent always been a practicing adventist but I do live my life by the basic values that I learned as a child. I am confused about this attack on the adventist church. Remember, we are to follow one only. Jesus Christ. He is the only example. So it shouldnt matter what school or church you go to. People are human and make mistakes the ultimate one to look to and guide your life after is God himself. He will never fail you. Paul I am sorry that someone or some people seem to have failed you in your life. But it is your choice to choose to allow your present and future be hindered by your past or let things be. Learn and move on to a better and brighter future. Set a better example than the one that was set for you. Allow Jesus to be your guide. You can never go wrong with that. God Bless.

How did you do that Paul? I have never seen Cinders respond so thoughtfully and on topic before. You have obviously said something to provoke her to righteous indignation. I am absolutely stunned by the transformation. Whenever Cinders reacts to my opening message on a thread, she always behaves like a complete degenerate.

Paul, don't you think you should read and know what you are attacking? So I ask you to read it so you will have actual, personal knowledge of what she wrote.

Why don't you read it? Read Desire of Ages, Steps To Christ, Patriarchs and Prophets, Acts of the Apostles, the Great Controversy.

I am not saying you should believe it-- that is up to you, but at least it is better than attacking books and their author on the basis of what others tell you.
I guess, all these people and ex SDA ministers

It isn't so much a question of "lying," Paul. But yes the world does have liars in it, including some who call themselves Christians. It would not be the first time. But the bigger point is that you should have a personal knowledge of what you are talking about. These men's experiences do not represent all of Seventh-day Adventism. There must be something good about it, or you would not see it having such an impact on people's lives.

Have you ever tried to see anything positive in the SDA church? It will call for opening your mind and your eyes and ears.
are you the only source of truth?
I'm sure she doesn't claim to be but then neither are you or any of us the only source of truth. That is why you need to stop taking the views of certain websites and people who are always anti-SDA or anti-EGW. All I am suggesting-- for your sake-- is that you don't just skim the surface but that you dig deep and look beyond the superficial.

As Cinders said, your posts show a pattern of having an emotional motivation, and borders on obsession and paranoia, not a healthy situation for you.

'Righteous indignation' must be a fine attribute that you recognised Shubee, some of us are just trying to survive righteous indignation is a shear luxury

Pow, any student following God's Divine Word
would immediately reqonize the false doctrines
of Ellen White and Company.

There is not a commandment to keep any day in the NT.
There is not an Investigative Judgement
Jesus Christ did not have a human sinful nature
but the nature of man
The commandments of the Lord in the NT are the precepts and principles of God (Jesus Christ)
The commandments in the NT are not the Old
commandments of the Law of Moses, but revised by
God in a manner which defines the essence of love
for one another. They are of Christ, the definition of love.
The Kingdom of Heaven is not food and drink
but the substance is Christ, the body of Christ.
The Church is the Body of Christ not the Sda
organization
Christ dwells in each of us TODAY
We have received eternal life, a gift, TODAY
not after an Investigative Judgement.

I need not go any further, Ellen White was a fraud, the scriptures uncover her deception.
The Lord has told us false prophets would arise
and how to know them. She is one.

Spare me Pow, I can't stand how this uneducated
dizzy teenager misled so many GOOD PEOPLE.

Paul, I would spend time trying to reason with you but you give strong evidence that you are primarily driven by emotion and anger rather than by intellect and love.

As the Apostle said, "Let every man be fully convinced in his own mind." I've already made up my mind on the basis of evidence. You have to decide for yourself. I wish you the best. That is what I learned in 15 years of the Adventist school system.

Canright called EGW a "a noble Christian woman." There is no record of Jesus calling Judas anything.

I'll take Canright's word on EGW over your's anyday.

I went to Seventh-Day Adventist schools for much of my upbringing. I'm 30 now, and I'm still bitter about it (despite not being a bitter person otherwise, and generally being very positive about things in general).

I am bitter because I was lied to by all the well meaning but totally uninformed adults in my life. We were constantly warned about the end times, about how the government would persecute Adventists for worshipping on the Sabbath, about how the government would pass a National Sunday Law, and about how we might need to die for our beliefs. I even had one teacher who guaranteed that Jesus would return within 10 years, and probably within 5. This was in a seventh or eight grade math classroom, and this occurred over 15 years ago.

My sister transitioned from the SDA school system to a regular old non-denominational Christian school during this time. Unlike me, she was very into Christianity, and was always organizing singing groups and the like. She was much happier after transferring to the non-SDA school, and her new friends appeared to be much nicer and more genuine as well.

These are just anecdotes, but I can tell you that I went to a number of SDA schools, from elementary through college, and have been around practicing Seventh-Day Adventists from several countries around the world, and they all had the exact same problems.
