“Allah is a very beautiful word for God. Shouldn't we all say that from now on we will name God Allah? [...] What does God care what we call him?”

At the time of that incident, you were totally clueless and ignorant about politics and had no knowledge about what was going on in the Middle east.
If you had then you would not have accused Islam for that.
Why was Islam even mentioned? And who mentioned it loud and clear? The terrorists. It's quite interesting that all of these terror groups pick clearly Islamic names for their organizations. They are the ones who want to make it all about Islam, not the media.

I don't remember them sticking crosses on their planes and tanks and giving the Nazi party a name like "Party of Christ" and screaming Jesus is greater before committing violence. But I do know Muslims that do things like that You see it every single day in almost every part of the world.

They don't pay these organizations to have clearly Islamic names. They don't pay people to scream Alllahu Akbar before committing violence. If they start quoting scriptures like Muslims always do, then yes they are telling us that they are doing it because it's in their scriptures, just like bin Laden did.

Why Ban Alcohol and not cars?

A cursory glance on today's paper, shows the "beneficial effect" of Alcohol.... how many such cases would be in the whole world every day?

Six Children hurt in head on collision:

STRATFORD, Ont.-- A driver involved in a head-on crash that sent six children to hospital Sunday night has been charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm.

Tammy-Lynn Dingman, 42, of West Perth, Ont., has also been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and failing to provide a breath sample on demand.

Police said a car with two adults and a child crossed the centre line and collided with a minivan carrying a family of seven.

In all, 10 people were injured in the crash. All the children are younger than 10 years old.

The impact was so severe that two Ornge air ambulance choppers were called to the scene to transport a child and an adult, both in critical condition, to London, Ont.

"Here you have a family that is completely innocent who has an immediate life-altering incident that is completely avoidable," provincial police Const. Kees Wijnands said.

The scene of Sunday’s crash is not far from the spot where in Februrary 2012 a horrific crash between two vehicles killed nine migrant workers and a truck driver. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Dingman is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 8

A Mac's convenience store clerk still hasn't returned to work after being viciously beaten a week ago until he was unconscious.

Friday cops arrested a man who they believe was his attacker.
They're not saying anything about what led them to their suspect but it's believed he's wanted in connection to as many as six armed robberies of Mac's stores -- all across the city.

In fact, in addition to the Orléans one on Tomkins Ave., police suspect the same man held up the one on Moodie Dr. in Bells Corners.
The timeline of the robberies in unclear.

Cops say the target of the robberies was cash, cigarettes and lottery tickets.

Desmond Manolakos, 25, who is known to police, was arrested Friday in relation to the Orléans robbery and charged with robbery, assault causing bodily harm and wearing a disguise.

A Manitoba teen arrested after he fatally stabbed his abusive father told police he didn’t “think this thing through.”

“If he opens his eyes, I will tell him I’m sorry,” the then 14-year-old boy told police, following the Dec. 30, 2012 killing.

“My little brother will grow up without a father. I need to tell my mom I’m sorry,” he said.

Provincial court Judge Tim Preston sentenced the now 16-year-old accused Monday to 30 days community supervision and 23 months supervised probation.

The teen spent 270 days in custody before he was released on bail.
The killing occurred in a community in southwest Manitoba.

Court heard the 42-year-old victim had been drinking all day when he threw a cellphone at his wife’s head and threatened to kill her.

Since Alcohol was "so much prevalent" in Arabs of that time, a "gradual approach" was needed to ban it fully and that is how it was done.
After the verse of 5:91, prophet, peace be on him, made it Prohibited or Haram. And you KNOW our prophet, did have legislative power, don't you?
It's interesting that the Quran does not do this right up front and right away. Seems to me that Muhammad was discovering that drunk soldiers do not make for good soldiers, so it was time for an adjustment and new rule. The revelations always seem to come after Muhammad himself sees a need or something he thinks should be done. That's why the Quran had to be revealed over 23 years. You had to give Muhammad the chance to create the Suras as the circumstances unfolded for him, and that obviously was not going to happen all at once and Muhammad did not know what those circumstances might be in the future.

That's what abrogation is for. It's for Muhammad to be able to change his mind as the circumstances dictated and abrogate past things if they no longer fit with how the circumstances have unfolded. That's how to you your religion and to me mine, and no compulsion in religion, were completely wiped out by Suras like 4, 8 and 9. Muhammad had an army now, so that was enough of the nice guy talk after he had the power to just force people.

The five Ayat (Ayas) of the Quran that most directly address the consumption of alcohol are as follows:
1. They ask thee concerning wine and gambling. Say: "In them is great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the profit." (Al-Baqara; 2:219)
2. And from the fruit of the date palm and the vine, ye get out wholesome drink and food: behold, in this also is a sign for those who are wise.(An-Nahl; 16:67)
3. O ye who believe! Approach not prayers with a mind befogged, until ye can understand all that ye say….(An-Nisa; 4:43)
4. O ye who believe! Intoxicants and gambling,(dedication of) stones, and (divination by) arrows, are an abomination, Of Satan’s handiwork: Eschew such (abomination) that ye may prosper.(Al Maeda; 5:90)

5. Satan’s plan is (but) to excite enmity and hatred between you, with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of God, and from prayer: Will ye not then refrain?(Al-Maeda; 5:91)

Quran does not use the word "prohibition" in the context of alcohol (khMr) anytime, anywhere. KhMr is the arabic term used for anything that causes intoxication. In other words, alcohol has not been categorized as "haram" in the Quran.
__________
Thank you, Buford for quoting the verses fro those, who are not aware of them.

I explained it without even quoting an exact verse. Please allow me to give a crash course for the words.

The Arabic word is 'Muntahoon".

In the active voice the word is "yanha". For example, "Innallaha yanha...." which means "Verily Allah forbids..." or "Verily Allah prohibits..."

Check this one out where the word "yanha" is used and shown in transliteration as "wayanha " (Just separate the 'wa' for 'and')

http://islamawakened.com/quran/16/90/

Most translators including Western/Christian scholars have used the word 'forbids'.

In the passive voice for Arabic, it would mean, "Won't you stay forbidden....?" or ""Won't you stay prohibited?""

And I also gave an example by way of a question the LORD asked. So, I would say, "Yes, LORD! I will refrain and never touch intoxicating drinks."

So, according to Qur'aan, intoxicating drinks are forbidden,

Ayesha was married to the Prophet when she was about 18 years old.

What the Christian polemic bloody fools do not know is that we follow the Sunnah, the Way of the Prophet.

So, if the Prophet had married Ayesha and had taken her to bed when she was six, all Muslim men including yours truly would be marrying 6 years old girls under the "Sunnah" and fucking them merrily and none of you bloody fools/idiots would have been able to stop us.

Now, let us go back to Luke's report. Why did your God and the Holy Spirit overpowered a poor innocent little pre-pubescent girl?

Also, why did your bachelor Jesus keep so many women and how do you explain her illicit and illegal sexual relationship with Mary Magdalene? Why was Jesus also a gay? John used to lean and sink in his bare chest. Right?

You follow Jesus' Way of keeping girls and mistresses.

"Now, let us go back to Luke's report. Why did your God and the Holy Spirit overpowered a poor innocent little pre-pubescent girl?"

This should read: "Now, let us go back to Luke's report. Why did your God and the Holy Spirit overpower a poor innocent little pre-pubescent girl and raped her?"

And "Also, why did your bachelor Jesus keep so many women and how do you explain her illicit and illegal sexual relationship with Mary Magdalene? Why was Jesus also a gay? John used to lean and sink in his bare chest. Right?" should read:

Oh please. Anyway, the last supper doesn't specifically say that he drank wine, but he did tell others to perform a ritual involving drinking wine when he said do this in memory of me. So you are full of it once again, unless we now want to dump the whole last supper while we are at it. Hey, we might as well at this point. In fact, why don't you just dump the entire Bible and don't even bother to talk about what is true in it and what is not? There's really no point in your doing that at all. 12-year-old Syrian bride rescued from abuse in Turkey
HDN | 3/17/2010 12:00:00 AM | ISTANBUL — Daily News with wires

Police have rescued a 12-year-old girl from Syria who was married to a middle aged man in a 'bridewealth' exchange.

Police have rescued a 12-year-old girl from Syria who was married to a middle aged man in a “bridewealth” exchange after she informed her parents that she had been raped and was forced to use drugs.
The girl, with initials B.A., was handed over to Abdülhakim Doğan in the eastern province of Şanlıurfa for 12,000 Turkish Liras, which was paid to the family in two installments. Daily Radikal reported that 40-year-old Doğan has had 38 criminal convictions against his name prior to his recent arrest for raping and forcing porn and drugs on his wife.

After B.A. informed her family about the way she was being treated, her mother and father traveled from Syria to Şanliurfa with a translator where they met with police and reported the crimes that had been inflicted on their daughter.

B.A.’s family explained they had handed their daughter over in a bridewealth exchange to who they thought was a good doctor.“Where we come from, when your daughter turns 12, you can hand her over in a bride wealth exchange. Abdulhakim came to our house and introduced himself as a man of faith who prayed five times a day. This is why we chose him for our daughter,” B.A.’s parents told the police.

According to the parents, they had no idea how their daughter was being treated until they received a phone call from her last week begging for them to come and save her. Following the reports, police carried out an operation at Doğan’s house in Şanlıurfa where B.A. was taken back to her family and Doğan was arrested.

During these investigations in Şanlıurfa, hundreds of other brides from Syria have been found, daily Sabah has reported. According to Sabah, in the Harran and Akçakale regions of Şanlıurfa,“b ridewealth” exchanges range from 5,000 to 35,000 liras. In these cases, once a Syrian bride marries in Turkey, she is eligible to apply for Turkish citizenship after three years.

Islam is the religion of imsane Muslims.
