Elijah, Enoch, and Moses is explained on this link.
http://www.ecclesia.org/truth/enoch.html
2Kings 2:11 said that Elijah was taken up to shamayim

it's only after clueless "John" wrote: No man has ascended up to heaven except the Son of Man (John 3:13), that christians had to revise back this concept of previous prophets' ascension to Heaven and they came up with this nonsense of locked gate of Heaven, righteous souls in a dark Hell etc.
so now they say that the whirlwind only took Elijah to another location on earth lol

Enoch he was taken up from the earth (Eccle 49:14)
Elijah he was taken up to the heaven (1Macc 2:58)

Enoch was transformed into the angel Metatron
Elijah every now and then comes down to earth; he watches the circumcision of every Jewish child, and on Passover night a cup of wine is poured for him and the door left unlocked

No, what Eric provided you are translations, and told you to look at the primary text. The point being that Some Christians are hung up with the concept of "official translations" because they lack the capacity to read the words in the Hebrew. Thats a side show. The kewy is to look at the Hebrew

Ka'ab al-Ahbar, former rabbi convert to muslim during the time of Umar:
"4 prophets are still alive TODAY; Enoch and Jesus in Heaven, Khidr and Elijah on earth"

Khidr the mentor of Moses, is said to have met in person also with Abraham, Zulqarnain, Muhammad's companions, caliph Umar Abdul Aziz and many muslim
scholars

in another islam tradition, Khidr and Elijah spend every month of Ramadan in Jerusalem, and every month of Zulhija they perform pilgrimage to Mecca (in cognito of course)

all you get ##########
the word, which shows up on plenty of websites, is shamayim

root - shin, mem, yud (sh, m, ya)
Hebrew words have three letter roots

heaven or heavens is the same thing - its an English figure of speech. The Hebrew word is always in the plural - there is NO singular version of it, meaning that it is an indivisible construct. In contrast, if it meant heaven(s) there would ALSO be a word for heaven. But there ISN'T. So it is read as singular, in the same way that many nouns in Hebrew are ONLY conjugated in the male OR the female DESPITE the fact that we all know that they have no gender. FOR example, shamayim is MALE (female form would be shemayot, which does not exist in usage.

(In other words, if you think shamayim is plural in the practical sense, you would also have to believe there is such thing as a MALE heaven and a FEMALE heaven - i.e. heaven would have to have a gender- which you obviously dont)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heaven_in_Judais...

Shamayim (שמ&#1 497;ם), the Hebrew word for "heaven", denotes a component of the cosmos, the other elements being the earth (erets) and the underworld (sheol). Shamayim is the dwelling place of God and other heavenly beings and, in post-Hebrew Bible literature (including the Christian New Testament), the abode of the righteous dead.[1]

Shame Shame on you Frijoles.
The Psalmist used the singular heaven in verses 3.

In verse 16 he used heavens and heavens knowing God created more than one heaven.

Give it up.
Stop using Hebrew, you are showing off your stupidity.

When you have no argument, you attack the messenger.

YOU are the one who brought this discussion. You backed it with the tripe that you cut and pasted from an article. The only source in the Tanakh that either the article or you presented in support was a mis-translation of the Hebrew and the dichotomy between the singular and plural therein.

Now that it has been shown to you that the original Hebrew doesn't support your position, you first attack the messengers. And, then you want to do away with the original so that you and your cronies will have carte blanche to bastardize G-d's words.

Learn Hebrew. Then you won't have to rely upon the words of others. You will be able to derive the true meaning on your own.

Eric,You are giving a false translation.

The translation in 16 is:
shamayims and shamayims, not shamayim and shamayin

The English has an "s" as in heavens and heavens.
which is correct language in identifying more than one heaven.

If there is a fault it is in the Hebrew word heaven and heavens as being both singular.

But the text it self calls for an identification in the meaning of heaven and heavens.

Heavens and heavens is repetitive sIgnifying more than one.

That's right. The original is incorrect. The Christian bastardization is correct. We have to do away with the Hebrew so that the bastards can have their way.

I agree with the last line. There is nothing religious and nothing redeeming in the Christian faith.
The Christian Bible is the only reliable source of historical facts.

The Koran is full of lies from cover to cover, it was written by a sick maniac.

It is for this reason the Muslim world is full of blood and terrorism. We blame all the rubbish in the Muslim world on your false prophet Mohamed.

It's a shame Muslims don't have the freedom to choose what they believe for them selves.

Sadly Muslims are held in captive ignorance by their superiors. They aren't allowed to discover the truth, I feel very sorry for Muslim people.

I have 2 Muslim friends who escaped from Iran, they found Christianity and they now have permanent residency in Australia because they would be executed if they went back to Iran.

Islam is big criminal organisation which kills anyone who tries to escape. This in it self speaks volumes about Islam, it is for this reason the West is at war with Islam.

We have to go to Muslim countries to liberate the people from Islamic terrorists.

Islam = Terrorism, Christianity = Freedom.

Choose wisely :-)

Please try to understand, that the things of God cannot be comprehended by those who are perishing.

As I mentioned before, you Humanists are still stuck on first base. You don't have the capacity to grasp the smallest things in creation, so there's no chance you will understand any of the deeper things.

See, the big barrier here is you have a very narrow world view and our God is almighty. This means anything is possible with Him, He has no limits of any kind.

So whatever questions you may have would be very puny and insignificant. They're not even worth answering, I would suggest you start at the beginning.

Once you get the basics, then you can move onto the next step. Your asking questions which you don't have the capacity to comprehend :-(

@ Shamma

Shaman,

What is your stupid problem?

First, you do not know a single word of Hebrew, while we know Arabic, which is very close to Hebrew.

All your scripture came from a scripturally poor language Greek. Right?

What are the words for heaven and heavens in Greek? If you know the two words, you can then realize how unfit that language is for Scripture, including English.

In Greek, the word "heaven" is "paravisos" and the word "heavens" is "Oolamia".(Translite rated by yours truly. Correct me if I heard wrong)

See how absurd that language is? And you are foolishly arguing about Shamayim?

Your Church fathers and the men, who penned your books, were ignorant fools, who were not really fluent in Hebrew.

In order to justify the silly, idiotic and absurd plurality of God, you guys can go to the extent of even making a cow, plural.

The problem is that the Church has her own Christian English.

Arabic may be close to Hebrew or to Zulu but what does it matter when Arabic has made a big mess in describing the reality as seen in the gibberish in the Quran?

Not one line from the Quran can be considered original or profound and befitting of a text dealing with cosmic existence in its gross and subtle aspects.

As in the past as well as in the present, Arabic is the language of the barbaric masses in the Middle East and elsewhere where it's spoken.

Fool, language means nothing, content is everything and it goes without saying that Arabic lacks both substance as well as style and is the lingo of ignorance and savagery.
