Those poor people I can't imagine how horrible it was for them. I'll never understand the mob mentality, if someone turns to me and say hey lets go kill someone my answer would be NO!!! Yet somehow someone in that group said that and 299 other people said sure let's do it. I'm guessing that since these people were older that they were really killed because they were seen as a drain on tribal resources as opposed to actually being witches of some kind. There have been many articles about parents in Africa who throw out their children because they are "witches" yet when someone digs to the real story they find out the parents just couldn't afford to feed the child and used the excuse of witchcraft to get rid of them.

This story was posted on My 21. I want to examine closely the time factors of this story. As described in the story:

"Senior administrator Njoroge Ndirangu said that the gang hunted down their victims Tuesday night and Wednesday morning."

This means the killings took place in the darkness of May 20th. People hide their evil in the night.

Knowing that this type of conduct takes time to organise and work up the malcious courage to conduct, it is safe to say that all of this was concocted the day and evening before. Which was May 19th....the night of a full moon, that was void of course. The Kolduny refer to a Full Moon as a "Liars Moon", a fearful thing full of tragic happenings.

An Old American Rock and Roll Band known as Creadance Clearwater Revival sang of this Bad Moon:

I see a bad moon arising,
I see troubles on the way
I see alot of pain a brewing,
I see pain on this day

Don't come around tonight
theres bound to be a fight

I see a bad moon on the rise..."

This is a lesson of a void of course Full Moon. Tragedy, where innocence is spilled on the earth with little regard, for the lifeblood of humanity.

It is a circumstance and cycle of life that leaves many tearful wondering why?

Such is a Full Moon, void of course, a bad moon arising.

When the full moon is void of course, lies concerning the magic of humanity come to fruition, when the Moon is Full, void of course, expect tragedy, conflict and the lifeblood of innocence to be spilled.

I do not know why it is so, but it is...It is so, as surely as the Sun rises to expose it all the next day.

Such is a bad moon.

More the possibility that those who were murdered were conducting a moon Right and were found out. Thus the day to hunt them and kill them. People of the old tribes are very wary of witchcraft and fear it greatly. It would not take a great leader to inspire that kind of hate knowing the amount of suspicion that these people hold. I may be wrong, I am just commenting.

Unfortunatly you may be right, I suspect that since these killings happened on the night of the 20th and morning of the 21st, that time was taken to prepare. However you might be very right that they were observed welcoming the Full Moon. Either way what a shame.

Let me start by saying I do not condon violence.
"witch" means many things in many places and Paganism has many shock value words that sell papers.
It is my understanding that in the Canadian aboriginal culture it is an insult to refer to a medicine man/woman as a "witch". Possibly some of the Christian influence on that culture (I sure the word did not exsist before we europeans got here).
I'm not sure what they mean by "witch". Nothing good I think!!! I'm not sure the media always is intrested in educating in their stories.
Something is missing!!!!

Well said Colonial, there certainly is something missing. The story of the dead for instance. The Media itself is not fully to blame. Those people unfortunately died. What we all have to contend with is supersticion and bigotry. If I were living in a place where it could cost my life for practicing, I would certainly be careful as to whom witnessed my rights. Good and careful preparation and a protective follower works wonders. I hope that this was just another tragedy and not some greater conspiracy to wliminate a faction of pagans from Kenya. Unlike you I do believe that violence has its time and place. I believe that it is in our nature. It can be channelled into great and powerful magics. Yet it must be used responsibly. The fight against the evil of our world cannot be won by a pacifist. I was bonded to a witch for a period that shared my view and I acted as her protecter as she formed the rights and was velnerable physically. A relationship as this has many benefits as I learned a great deal from her. This kind of bonding has been somewhat lost as many that pactice the art in North America practice in relative safety. These poor folk in Kenya, I hope that they are at peace, are a mystery. We will never know the truth.

Well, its bound and take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.

ahhh I think perhaps my husband eats the words. He plays this song but I didn't get the words right from memory. I thought Credance Clearwater Revival did this song orginally?

John Fogerty was the lead song writer and original member of Credence Clearwater Revival.

ALL husbands should eat their words. The sooner they learn, the happier everyone is. LOL!

Tell your hubby I said "Hi". Would love to hear him sing.

I can't sing a lick. Aghm.. NO, I can sing. Just that everyone puts tape over my mouth as soon as I open it. Which is why I can't sing.
