God Has Zero Tolerance For Wicca

There are 90 comments on the Wren's Nest story from Sep 27, 2007, titled God Has Zero Tolerance For Wicca. In it, Wren's Nest reports that:

“Like the hyena and the dog, the Wiccan will mark its territory by urinating or squatting down its MORBIDLY OBESE RUMP and defecating onto the sacred cold ground of any church cemetery near a Burger King ”

Ummm, you are aware that Landover Baptist is NOT a real church. That site is a parody site designed to make fun of Christian fundamentalists by going even more over the top than they are. It even says on the site that it's a parody.

This actually scared me until I read Wrens words at the bottom.

"Wren Chirps In:* Satire: Landover Baptist is a spoof/satire site."

Are there really people out there that hate us so much? maybe I shouldn't have asked that but what the heck, im up for getting my claws out.

There is something that I don't understand. Why does it seem like every one thinks that all christians are that close-minded? I am a christian and while I don't believe in Wicca, I totally believe that people have the right to make their own decisions. Unfortunately, many christians are ignorant and rude and give the few of us who heard God's command to love others a really bad name. And I am really sorry if any of you have been hurt or persecuted by any so-called "christians", but you do realize that not all of us are like that, right?
I hope I didn't upset any one.

As a Pagan, I have quite a few Christian friends who are open minded, and love me for who I am. There are also a couple of Christians on our forum, Hello and Zoompad, that are open minded and eager to learn about our beliefs. The problem many Pagans/Wiccans have(and I've been guilty of this at times); is that after years of being attacked for our beliefs, we develop a chip on our shoulder and sometimes have a knee-jerk reaction to some statements some Christians make. Peace.

Many of use Wiccans/Pagans know that not all Christians are bad and in fact those who do bad aren't really Christan to start with. Many of use are a bit gun shy and some are to defensive for our own good. Fundamentalism happen in every faith even ours. I for a time after being beaten with a wood bat felt an over abundance of righteous indignation. It took some time for me to see that the true Christians was not the ones with the bat but those who helped me up after words. So if a Wiccan/Pagan say any foul to you then just try to keep what I had stated here in mind.

IT's the closed minded folks that yell the loudest and attack the most. They stand infront of the group who is quiet. Making it a crowd. Because the crowd is silent, the makes those yelling believe that everyone agrees and supports them in their actions. It empowers them.

The opened mind are not often heard because they speak calmly and rationaly. They haven't got a 'mission' like the closed minded do. They don't go out of their way to act on their 'mission.'

Oh yes totally! I live in Ireland and everyone of my friends is Catholic or Church of Ireland (I know not all Christians think it Christian but they do follow Christ so have a right to the name...also seeing as they coined the phrased Christian!!). Suffice to say nearly all of them are intriguyed as to what Wicca is and what Witchcraft is all about. None of them are out to be converted but at least tehy open up the doors for dialogue!!
