I disagree with paganism being a Religion. Reconciling Christo-pagan, Satanic-pagan, Athiest-pagan, Chuthlu-pagan, fairy-pagan, cyber-pagan, and finding anything that they have in common other than the word pagan. Is simply beyond me. So with No core beliefs about what is " Pagan" I conclude that it is a social movement like Beatniks and Bohemians. A large number of religions along with Wicca have strong concern for the environment but being "Eco-" is not a requirement for us.

While not being accurate the article does not stir up trouble for us and presents a favorable view for mainstream America.

Since when does The Pagan religion need a core belief beyond a belief in the Gods and Goddesses..

I have known several Pagans that do not adhere to any one of the several thousand different Pagan religions. The simply believe what is in their heart with out the additional label of a Wicca, Druidism, ect. But that is my opinion and experience.

Atheist-pagans? Do NOT believe in any God Goddess fantasy or other. And I have met several Anti Wiccan pagans. Others who object to "an it harm none" or any ethical restrictions. A core belief is necessary for a religion, but not necessary for a social movement. Tell me something "most" pagans will say you are not pagan over? Most all of what I have heard is We are not...We are not... Nothing about what we are. So I have come to believe that they do not know. I have spent the last twenty years being confused by them. Pagans as something modern did not start until about 1980 I was there.

A pagan is a worships the Gods and Goddesses. There are a variety of pagan religions under that umbrella. An atheist is a person who has no beliefs.

Therefore there are ZERO Atheist pagans.. There is no such critter.. Ken Ra you are welcome to your opinion. Fact will remain that an atheist can not be a Pagan any more than that same atheist would be a christian or islamic.

And modern Pagan religion has it roots in the late 19th century early 20 century spiritual societies. Which was inspired from many sources both from the east and west. So unless you were there in the 1880's. I call bull.. And by the way I have been Wiccan for 29 years. Do the math.

Kat, they call themselves " Atheist Pagans". Being something of a word splitter Agnostics have no beliefs.( I was raised Agnostic I know )

Atheists do have a belief and that belief is that there are NO God/s. My brother is one and I do not understand them. I have been trying but not succeeding.

No, an atheist is some one that has no belief in any Deity(s). Therefore there is no such thing as an atheist pagan.

Hey Kathwynn you sound sexy. How would you like to dance with Al Green.
From what I've read xxx. Although Atheist means no god or belief in the existence of god, an atheist doesn't totally deny the possibility, and being science and biology continually changes god could pop up somewhere along the path.
