Oh Dear Lord you did not just type, "Troops aren't doing much these days to protect it, either." It is an opinion, "Freedom o f Speech" and that is okay, I'm not upset. I too have my opinion that I would like to offer.
I do not know what you mean by this statement but have to react. When I see my soldier-spouse put on his uniform every morning and go to work for who knows how many hours a day I know he's honoring our constitution. When I watch my soldier-spouse deploy every other year for 15, 12, 9, 6 months at a time, I know he is honoring our constitution. How many people do you know who solute at the American flag, reveille bugle call, or stop in their tracks at 11pm when the sounds of Taps is played each evening on the installation?
I am from Berkshire County and am very proud to be. I know we often forget to think about those that serve every day by choice and am proud to be a military spouse who has been successful at supporting the troops and America while we are at war. The constitution is apart of us all and I do believe our troops are supporting the constitution now, today, in the year 2008, the way they have been trained to do so. Maybe we all just need to be reminded from time to time of the constitution or protocal of how we show our appreciation to our country.
I could go on and on but I will not. Maybe some other post, just please, I beg of you, while we are at war, and our husbands, wives, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, etc are truly fighting for their own lives and the lives of our country and its freedom, please do not think the troops aren't protecting the constitution. Unless you live in the military life today, you have NO IDEA how much they give for so little.
