Love your message...& love this song! I come onto this forum a few times a week, but only end up reading instead of posting due to the hate that I see.(Even though many post with the best of intentions, we've all seen how replies can turn it a bit sour.)

My boyfriend & I now have our families singing this when we get our families together for the holidays...you see...I'm pagan, & he's Roman Catholic. We were both raised that way, but I found the path that is true to me. Yes, it takes a bit of work sometimes, because even though I understand his beliefs, there are times when I really have to explain mine, but it does work. I think that the biggest problem that we ever had over beliefs, was when his mother would ask about mine when we first started dating. She wanted to know what church I went to, & he'd skirt around it by telling her what church I was baptized at when I was a newborn instead - stuff like that. I made him come clean with his mother, so he wouldn't end up lying to her all the time (& I let her know that I wanted him to stop lying to his mom). She was so happy that her son's new girl didn't want him lying (even if he thought that he was "sparing" her), that she accepted me for who I am.

& she still does YEARS later!

So thank you Shadow for bringing love & an olive branch. Even though I've hardly ever posted, it is much appreciated!

Your quite welcome! I admit I have unfortunately raged a couple times here when my temper got the better of me. However I have gained at least a little wisdom since then and I wish to bring a little peace and understanding here. If you can tell others on here about this post so I can spread the message.
