what is the difference in Athiest as Agnostic?

I know Atheism (sp?) is the disbelief of deities, ie, gods and goddesses, right? So what is agnostic?

Sorry for the late response. Have been trying to answer your question, but apparently Topix was programmed using a combination of drunken monkeys with broken fingers and enraged rhinos suffering from the flu. Hope being on a different computer will let me post this.
Agnosticism is the more neutral position of saying that we do not know whether any gods exist.

Agnosticism is the stance in which one says clearly that they do not know whether or not any deity actually does or does not exist.

Atheism is a belief that deities are non-existent.
Agnosticism is not having the definite belief of whether deities exist or not.
