Amazing how many of you are taking up for this Wiccan and "his" rights. How about the child's rights that he raped? Shows how our country is in severe need of our Lord Jesus Christ. This guy is way down the wrong path and we should pray for his salvation. Atheist, I am praying for you right now. One day, you will realize there is a God. I pray it will not be too late for you.
I'm not sure who you're pointing at as taking up with an accused (accused being a very important word here, as he has NOT been convicted, and "innocent until proven guilty" is a tenet our judicial system, however flawed, is founded upon) child rapist. No one has suggested that this man should be found innocent because he is Wiccan, only that his religion is not relevant to his alleged crime.

And you go ahead and pray for me, the poor poor atheist. I do appreciate your concern. However, I can assure you, I'm not about to change my beliefs or worldview any time soon as a result.

Regardless of his religious affiliation or how he looks, I am so tired of reading comments all over the internet that the public has already crucified him without a trial. The media says he was arrested on these charges... correct he was. The media says he was extradited by US Marshalls from NC to Ohio... correct he was. You people already have him condemned and hung before he has even had a chance to go to trial on this. Do you know what happened? Do you know his family? Do you know the person who is accusing him of these crimes? Probably not because we as human beings are all to quick to judge based on what we read or how someone looks. This man was taken away from his family and his own children. But of course we are just going to judge him based on what is written in the media. Hold off judgement until you know the facts. Stop condemning him and his family until the truth comes out. There is a lot about this case that the public doesn't know about.

I would never take up for a pervert regardless of what faith he is. I do take up for the Wiccan and any other faith because faith did not make this man what he is, a sick mind did.
I believe it is wrong to persecute anyone's religious or other beliefs by the actions of one disgusting human.

Wicca/Satanism is a deviant path so they are probably more likely to deviate and are not to be trusted.

Wiccan is an earth-based religion. They worship a god and a goddess. They believe whatever they put out in the universe they receive 3-fold. I think they say "do what you will but harm no one". It is not Satanism.
Satanism- worships the diety, Satan. They are focused on hedonism, material wealth, and worldly possessions.
Wiccan and Satanism are opposite on the 'religion spectrum'.
I am a Christian but believe in the Constitution of freedom of religion to all.

Christianity is a deviant path. Just ask any kid who's been unlucky enough to be stuck in a room alone with a priest.

First of all I'm suspicious whenever a male describes themselves as Wiccan. It seems like many men involved in Wicca are only in it because it attracts a lot of women.
You're suspicious of men being Wiccan? That and your explanation that they probably get into it to get laid make no sense whatsoever.

You are welcome. I do have a couple friends who are Wiccan and they are the kindest most generous people I have ever met.(if you want to generalize). They accept my Christianity also and we are able to discuss our similiarities and our differences with love in our hearts.

Of course I do pray for them and they light candles for me lol. But we are able to put religious differences aside and maintain our friendships.

WRONG. You are NOT a good Christian if you believe it is acceptable to worship heathen idols and false images. I think you are really one of THEM but you are pretending to be on t5258

I read that excellent take-down of the conceited language being used here by that troll, attempting to dishonestly equate Wicca and Satanism. Bravo.

I am proud to see people willing to educate themselves and maintain a humane and human attitude about their friends and communities.

Possibly a little bit longer than that (but not by much more than a few decades) but the name certainly got popularized about 60 years ago.

Thou really make me wish that Topix had a way to actually private message people (it seems to be a missing feature.) Got a blog or something?

I know that Wicca is a fairly new religion and it was derived from Paganism which became a religion before the days of Christ. Paganism is still veiwed by many as a simple way of life which is what it was before the religious tag was stuck on it. Paganism can be described as any one who lives a simple country life and does little harm to the planet and to its inhabitants. OH WAIT! That would be GREEN LIVING, wouldn't it?

I am sorry but many religions use objects as part of thier religious ceremonies (rituals) Chalices for the Blood of Christ, Levened bread, Robes, Crosses (an Image representing Christ. There are statues of Christ in many Churches and in thier sanctuaries.
My family consist of Catholic, Baptist, Methosdist, Episcopalian, Jehovahs Witness and all of them use the bible of different versions. Which, I might add is a man made document, written by humans, translated by humans, and published by humans, at the order of humans. Since when did Humans get so perfectly infallable that we can't make mistakes. The bible is only one third of the holy doctrine known to man and womankind and could very well have errors in it. Only the Creator knows for sure

Sure, for some Pagans. But there are plenty that live in a city or suburbs. And there are ways to live "green" in the city or suburbs.
